We are going to have to see the indictment. I don't think anyone charged with Espionage, didn't just have documents, but shared them with someone.
Yeah, Trump might get his hand slapped unless it can be proved he did something nefarious with classified documents.
I heard on the radio today that someone from the Clinton WH staff took classified documents out of the national archives, stuck them down his pants, and later shredded them. He eventually was charged and convicted of a misdemeanor.

Yes, and he blatantly lied to the feds, but he's not the first president to do that either. I'm certainly not defending the scum bag Trump. Unless he used the documents for illegal purposes or financial gain, I am highly skeptical he will be convicted of a felony.
After i read through that indictment, I think he's going to plead out.
Agree, the Lying King Donald will never take the stand in open court and forced to give truthful answers to the prosecuting attorneys questions.
I really don't see this as the crime of the century. The worst I have heard is Trump showing off to his Mar-o-Lago buddies a hypothetical military plan for an invasion of Iraq. Sure that's illegal, but doesn't make him a Robert Hanson.

Do you think that he would "plead out" knowing that he would have to do some hard time in prison. I would add that the judge in this mess really worries me !
Okay... if he is found guilty of one or more of the 37 counts against him, what do you think that his sentencing will be ? Espionage alone carries a 20 year sentence.

I don't think he pleas, unless it is for no jail time, and able to run. The only punishment he will accept is a fine because he won't pay it, and probation. If he doesn't get that offer, he won't take it.
I want someone to go deeper into the mindset that makes him think it is a good idea that instead of giving the papers back he is going to destroy them. Either way they are gone for good, and one way causes him more problems. I am just dumbfounded.
