I just don't get the use of Randy Choate tonight (or most nights). Carlos is flat out dealing with 13 in a row and Choate is called on to get just the lead off batter?

This is probably Choate's last year. He's getting $3M for those few pitches a week. What a gig huh!! Lol. I think part of his contribution is being the older guy in the pen gives the younger ones someone to lean on. Sometimes that can be worth quite a bit. Don't know if that's the case but I'd hate to change much in the way of pitching right now.

We should probably be talking about what a great job Maness did last night!!!! Wow as I sat there yelling at the TV watching Chisik throwing ball after ball. Maness comes in and gets 3 outs without giving up a run. That was a save not a hold but who cares, Then FSM interviews the backup catcher Cruz for hitting a HR which was important, but how could Maness not be star of the game?.

I saw a stat today that tells it all. 17 times this year Choate has entered the game and the first man he faced has reached base. Since most of his appearances have been to get one man out, what does that tell you?
