Question regarding MSHSAA seeding rules

In Class 4 District 8, if both Smithville (6-1) and Platte County (5-2) win out and Smithville finishes with the second most playoff points while Platte County finishes with the third most, would Platte County leapfrog Smithville for the second seed since the Pirates defeated the Warriors head-to-head? Or would Smithville retain the second seed since they’d have a better record?

Last year, Platte County and Smithville had the same record but the Pirates finished with the first seed due to defeating them in the regular season.

Wasn't sure if this head-to-head rule applied if one school had a better record than the other or if the regular season result trumped all if they were back-to-back in district standings. Thanks.

Head to head applies. So they would flip spots. Unless MSHSAA has changed the rules. But I believe it applies still

You can jump the team directly ahead of you if you beat them head to head.
They work from the top down in doing this. That said, if a team gets leapfrogged, that can only happen once.
Example: Lets say Class 6 ends up with the district standings being 2. RayPec, 3. Park Hill, 4. Rockhurst.... Park HIll would go ahead of RP, but then since RP had already dropped a spot, they wouldnt be eligible to be leapfrogged by Rock.

Also, the switch has to actually be requested by the lower-seeded school, so the switch is not automatic if they are happier with their matchup. For example, if a 6 seed beat a 5 in the season, but they like their matchup against the 3 better than the 4, they can stay the lower seeded team.

Not anymore, It's automatic now.

f. Automatic Switch: Two Consecutive seeds (4-5, 6-7, 1-2) who have played head to head. If two teams have played head-to-head and their seeds are consecutive they will be switched if the lower seed has beaten the higher seed (for example, the #2 seed beats the #1 seed head to head; they will be switched). Once a switch has been made, that team is protected from being switched again (for example, the #1 seed cannot be switched with the #3 seed in example above). This process will start from the higher seed and work down through each seeded position.

There is certain group of people that would consider this fact, fake news. But they are probably "seating" down right ow.

I always thought anything printed by MSHSAA read like stereo instructions.

Are their rules examinations still bizarre?

1. If Player A signals a fair catch on Team B’s 32 yard line during a gibbous moon while the head official’s cousin’s former roommate uses a noise making device imported from China, does that constitute said official using a chartreuse flag to penalize a muffed punt, assuming the fair catch was made by a player whose great grandparents were Kurdish yak herders?
Result is:
