Albert truly was a once in a lifetime player. Too bad he left us with such a bad taste. I don't know if he'll ever be welcomed back and put along side Stan and the others. Or even if he'll want to be. It seems to be a pretty big deal to those guys as they get older. Everyone likes to be praised and shown the love. Even Gibby, as sultry as he can be, seems to like some attention occasionally. Will one of the best to ever play the game just fade away with no fanfare and remembrance? Maybe time will heal all wounds and we'll see him in a red jacket on opening day sometime in the future.

I was never mad at him. If they had done the right thing and torn up his contract around 2008 and given him a 7 year extension things would have worked out fine and he could have been phased out around 2015.

Still love the guy and would have rather had a hobbled Albert batting 3rd than Honny batting 4th the last 2 to 3 years.

I’ve been tracking the downward trend the past few years. Interesting. He’s built up so much cushion with his ridiculously productive first ten years.
