Potosi

The lucky shot in districts put them where they didn't belong as a sub .500 team and they got humiliated by Dexter.

Lucky shot or not, lets give Potosi credit for doing what they had to do to win a district title.

And instead of bashing Potosi how about we give Dexter credit for being a good team

Agreed…. Better to be lucky than good most the time anyway.

“It was a lucky shot. I just saw it open and shot it,” Blair said. “I thought it was going to be too hard because I gave it all I had.”

There you go.

Wasn’t at the game but Potosi must have done something in order to put themselves in position to hit that “lucky shot”. Maybe your daughter should have got a hand in her face….

Don't think NC played overconfident. You can't miss multiple free throws late that would seal the deal and then give up an uncontested 3 in transition to bring the deficit to 1. Plus Potosi's post players scored at will late in the game. Credit goes to Potosi for battling all game.

NC never fronted the post all night and left the floor still having 3 fouls to give. Potosi played hard until the end and made a couple of shots when they needed them. They just could not contend with Dexter's pressure defense and up tempo style. That wa 2 things NC did not seem to do against the Trojans.

I saw around 12-15 games this year. The NC-Potosi game was the roughest game I saw by a mile. Play was stopped three times for blood. In any other game this year Holly Forbes would have shot 15 free throws in the first half. Potosi bigs would have been in deep foul trouble. Potosi was smart enough to keep playing physical when nothing was being called. Then they hit the shot to win it. They get the banner.

Potosi Coach in the huddle during the first break in action: “Girls it’s not a foul if they don’t call it.”

Right or wrong when the playoffs start, games are called differently than the regular season.

She recognized that immediately.

Looked like NC came out with the same defense that beat Farmington by 15 three days earlier. Agree that game was physical down low, but NC had 20+ FTA. They just missed too many down the stretch and didn't rebound as well as they did against Farmington.
