Has anyone put together a formula or spreadsheet that emulates the playoff formula for Missouri High School Football? Curious about some what/ifs for this weekend of football.

Here's an interesting scenario: Parkview can force a coin flip for the 5 seed with Willard with a 13 point win in overtime only against Hillcrest. They must force overtime, score, and then get a defensive touchdown. This would tie them with Willard for 5th presuming that Willard loses to Carthage by 13 points or more

If they scored first in overtime, wouldn't the play be blown dead if they obtained the ball on a turnover?

I don't believe so. I think that only applies to PATs and 2 point conversions. I suppose you could recover a fumble and then fumble it back, but the offense would have to score on that play

I am pretty sure in HS fb that's impossible. I think they blow the play dead but then again Ku did it earlier this year so I can definitely be wrong

How are you accounting for the strength of schedule component in the equation? That would be very hard to do as you would have to know what the outcome of the games the other 8 teams you played this year will be on Friday night.

Parkview plays in a 10 team conference and plays no out of conference games. Willard plays in a separate 10 team conference and plays no out of conference games so strength of schedule is a nonfactor except for the Nixa/Republic game going into overtime giving Nixa an extra 5/9 point

I nominate you Stifle for this tasking of the spreadsheet.

Well, I finally figured it out. I have developed a spreadsheet which can calculate district points for each team. But you guys have been a great source of encouragement!!! lol
