Pittsburg 13. Webb City 7. End of 1st Quarter

The Goal line stands were awesome. 4th down stop from the half yard line just to have link throw a pick on the first play ran back to the two yard line. Then WEBB D stops Pitt from the half yard line again on 3rd and 4th down, Amazing...Of course WEBB then goes runs 14, then runs for 10, then runs for 60 then link throws a pick. Huh?

I heard about that on the radio post game and wondered if I heard it correctly. Sounded pretty wild. Nice job on the defense, could have potentially swung that game!

Way too many mistakes to resemble 12 or 14 at this point. Good win but lots to clean up. Feels like a lateral move at best not a progression.

A few thoughts. Despite giving up two long pass plays (I think the first was a perfect play call agains a blitz) I thought the defensive effort was phenomenal. When Pitts QB had time to pass he was really good. After the second or 3rd drive he no longer had time and the defense often had a better chance than the WR of catching the ball.

On balance the offense played well. Henderson I think made some very impressive cutback runs and at times it was just beautiful to watch. Pitt did a good job of setting the edge on runs outside but counters and and runs between the tackles wore them out.

On the down side, the turnovers...ugh, WC left quite a few points off the board and for as dominant an effort it was it probably should have been a running clock in the 4th quarter. It is hard to complain as a fan with the net result but there are still things to fix.

Also, it isn't just chicken. The cole slaw and German potato salad gives the edge to Chiken Annie's.:D

Pittsburg is well coached on defending the veer. No question too many mistakes but they also made the reads for the qb tough. When we ran some zone and basic isolation plays they had no chance. The passing game was off, but you have to just let the ball go as a qb sometimes and trust your guys. Defensively other than 2 busted coverages maybe the best they have played this year. Very physical and this defense actually gets tougher when their backs are to the wall. They have a championship level mentality.

All turnovers were interceptions ????
Not good but sometimes I think Cash believes if he gets it close our guys will come down with it,

No fumbles that I can remember and as hard as the guys run in traffic that's a great big plus

Defense stopped 8 plays inside the 5 and four of them inside the two ??

There were 2 fumbles. One on a snap and one on a outside option but WC did not lose either.

Only 1 of the 4 interceptions would I say it was a poor secession to throw. One was a very good defensive play on a deflected pass one had to be thrown into the end zone on 4th down and the other was a short screen that was just a little under thrown but the receiver was there.

I do think this Pittsburg team is going to win a lot of games. Probably not a state champ in Kansas but not an easy out either.
