Is that even possible??? Walden pitching in first rehab assignment Thursday night. Garcia goes 5+ in a combined no-hitter in his first rehab start. Cishek acquired from Fish. Gonzales good in his last appearance in Springfield, and now moving up to Memphis. In the next week or so you could see...
  • Cishek in and assume Socolovich out
  • Garcia replacing Cooney in rotation
  • Walden back and SammyT out
  • Gonzales and Cooney in Memphis rotation ready for injury replacement, spot starts, and September callup
Rotation is set with Lynn, CMart, Wacha, Lackey, Garcia. Bullpen has Villenuava in long role. Choate as LOOGY dude. Maness and Cishek for 6th inning/middle of the inning duty. Seigrest for the 7th, Walden for the 8th, and Rosie (getting concerned about him) to close. Man, unreal how good this looks on paper.

Let's not forget, this is Cooneys first time thru the league. Teams will adjust. There does seem to be great depth. Soco hadn't been bad. If he goes to Memphis with Marco and Cooney, Memphis will be loaded.

I am in favor of eventually dumping Choate
and letting one of our young lefties take a crack at that spot.

Sure seems like we should have enough bait to land a bat.

If Garcia comes back you won't have to worry about Cooney going through the league again right away.

Never mind I just saw on the Cards website they optioned Cooney to make room for Cishek and Garcia will get a start next week.
