Pinkel interview with Kietzman

I hate awkward scenes in movies and radio. That was hard to listen to.

Extremely hard to listen to, realize he was in tough spot and had to do what he did, but he is not helping his cause at all....best thing he did was cancel all the other interviews.

That was a great interview. I think it is funny he was not aware of the demands and that he himself did not send out the tweet? Everyone should listen to this interview.

Needs to be fired!
Honestly as I was listening to this yesterday, I can't help but think he is going to get a ton of pressure this offseason with the performance on the field and how this all played out. I am assuming there are some boosters that will pull funds because of this whole debacle, and the only thing this whole scenario has shown is that money matters. Time will tell on this one for sure, his only hope is to distance himself and hope it blows over (which is unlikely).

I heard that they already lost some big boosters

Preface by saying I'm not a Kietzman fan in the least. But this is pretty eye-opening. Some interesting questions asked, and some interesting answers given.

Good interview. He handled the interview questions perfectly.

Yes Pinkel. No sarcasm. I think he handled the interview perfectly. Why should he have said more? I wish he'd told Kietzman to ****off
Maybe to explain to people why he backed such a movement. Kietzman gave him that opportunity with the scenario of backing a group asking the associate professor to be fired. And he fanned.

If Pinkel gets fired over this, it"ll be a get out of jail free card. I'm a fan of Pinkel.

No way I think he should be fired. That would be another crazy overreaction, IMO. I think he does a really good job. And make no mistake, the position he was put in was extremely difficult. Virtually impossible. Just really surprised at how unprepared he was for that interview. The PR staff had to know the questions were going to be something like that. Either they didn't prep him, or he botched it up.

He didn't sound unprepared. He reiterated what he said at the news conference on Monday. Pinkel stutters in all his interviews.

Guys, If I were Pinkel and bunch of my black players came to me in that enviroment and this social climate, I'm thinking one thing. RIOT OH SH**. This could get ugly. I'm losing control of my team! I got to keep a lid on this. I have to keep the peace. Pinkel did good.

In all honesty, if I was a coach, and I thought my team would "RIOT" over a little deal like this???? I would declare I am unfit to lead young men and resign.

No way. He prevented a riot. You would do that.

I won't argue what I would do. I have never been a coach to a group of thugs that would "riot" over nothing, thank goodness, so I wouldn't know.

Once again, he is not fit to lead.

I don't view them as thugs. I don't understand how stupid some kids view the world and themselves. I write it off as being a Millenial. Coddled, incapable of a original thought. Incapable of handling criticism, hollow in their accomplishments, no substance, dumb and super sensitive.

Fair enough

What do you define as good? Once the truth comes out and people understand what just happened, or actually didn't, and realize the players control him and he he kept control of nothing. Well, i'd wait awhile...then send him into an early retirement.

Pinkel is 117-71. He's been to 10 bowl games in 14 years. He's given us excitement on the football field with two SEC east championships. He recruits nationally but does a great job of securing the in state recruits. He's been an offensive innovator, has and does many things that are popular now but only because he did it first at MU. In many regards he is old school football too, does old style grass drills (or a mindset of toughness)during the off-season that he learned from legendary coach Don James. He has exceeded wins and bowl appearances by former Missouri legendary coaches Dan Devine and Don Faurot.

Pinkel handled the situation the best way to preserve his football team. This isn't all bad if you've ever been a football coach. It's the primary DNA.
Pinkel has earned a bye on his alleged mistakes in 2015, I believe he is the best leader for the MU future and I acknowlege he has created new enemies. If he continues to lose he will be fired. But he deserves a break on the matter at hand.

I think the problem is going to come in, when he is up against other schools in recruiting and they use this against him. He did back the players and has that, but in the end, other schools can now use the racism card as a reason not to go to MU. Not sure he has any direct impact on this, just ends up autocorrecting itself over the next year or so with the talent level on the field and ultimately performance is what retains coaches.

We'll have to agree to disagree on that. He couldn't answer the questions and seemed to get pissy. Reiterating what he said Monday had nothing to do with most of those questions. Kietzman offered a different scenario in which Pinkel would be able to "support his players", and he got angry and told him it was too complicated or complex. It clearly wasn't. I think the point was, it seems as if he made an uninformed decision to support his players who were used as pawns. Pawns in a political battle that falsely injected race to serve their agenda.

Kietzman is nauseating. Pinkel was throwing up in his mouth.
