
Chris Pilz and his family will return to
Southwest Missouri as he has accepted the head boys' basketball coaching
position at Waynesville High School.? Pilz spent the past school year away
from the game, serving as an administrator in the DeSoto school district.
Pilz, an all-state player at Licking High School and
all-American at Missouri St. Louis will return to coaching at the high school
level.? Pilz spent seven seasons leading the Missouri-St. Louis Tritons
where his teams compiled a 77-114 mark.?? Prior to his experience in
college basketball Pilz coached at Salem, Senath-Hornersville, and Hazelwood
Central through the 2003 season where his teams compiled a 107-55 mark in six
seasons.
"My wife and I are excited about the opportunity to
return to Southwest Missouri and move our family to a quality school district",
commented Pilz Thursday evening.?
"I am excited about the young players in the program and
those returning in the Waynesville program", added Pilz.? "It will be quite
a challenge playing in a league like the Ozarks Conference and competing with
other area programs such as Nixa and Ozark.
Pilz will replace Tom Bildner who was not retained following
the Tigers 10-12 season.
