How about an Andy Reid Assistant coach. The George Costanza approach to remind Andy to do the exact opposite of what he thinks he should do.
Heck! Coach Nickerson could have used a coach like that! In fact, Nickerson only had one assistant!
That ONE assistant was Nickerson's get-back coach. Nickerson did everything else. He was the HC, the OC, the DC and STC. He was the water boy and the equipment manager. He filmed and did game day set up. Not to mention he was the keyboarding teacher during the school day. Now that is 1 heck of a coach!!! Thank goodness when he made it to Minnesota State that he had a couple of good assistants he could delegate some jobs to.
Coach Nickerson went on to have some great success as a coach. Both in college and the NFL. All because Ampipe gave him a chance!
Then why did he want to leave Ampipe so bad?
He couldn't beat Walnut Heights! Coach was ready to move onto the next level. Coach Nickerson had been an assistant at several area PA high schools, before Ampipe give him a head coaching opportunity.
