is jumping into the renewable energy market. They already have thousands of acres of land and access to the power grid that will make it much cheaper and easier for them than most startup renewable companies. They also figure to save millions of dollars they would have to spend to reclaim the land they now use for coal production if they aren't doing something else with it.

Peabody is the largest coal producer in the world. Their tiny venture is for public relations and nothing more

with oil, natural gas, and LPG prices going through the roof coal use worldwide will set another record in 2022

Will they get some subsidy's for this....if so makes great sense for a corporation to get some govt taxpayer money for free.

The article I read says it's likely pressure from the folks that finance their businesses. They want them to diversify. That and the afore mentioned money they can save by not having to reclaim the properties where they have gouged out the earth for ever and a day.

That is ending quickly, most wind farms never turn a profit and combined with the fact they require a 100% backup power generation capability the new is wearing off quickly ( a 3 megawatt wind turbine tied to the grid requires 3 megawatt capacity from other sources to back it up when the wind isn't blowing) actual wind turbine output is only about 20% of its actual rated capacity. Liberty Energy is asking for large rate increases to pay for its new wind farms in SW Missouri. Our electricity rates are going to double in the next ten years

Green energy is possibly and more than likely harder on the environment than the current Fossil fuel model...

Unless we want to undergo drastic lifestyle changes in America and slide down the path to living like 2nd/3rd world countries for the masses while the Elites churn through energy do to privileges as the Royalty of old did with other resources ..then Green Energy is not a legit option. Unless we want to actually go Nuclear and Dive into the Salt Reactor arena, then Western civilization is not going to look like Western Civilization.
