I saw a story about Florida State getting State Championship rings for its players after losing the Peach Bowl. Anyone know if that is actually true or just a joke?

Is it? I mean they did whip Florida regardless of their QB(quick who started that game at QB for FSU?). I'm sure it's an oversight or just a downplay of the bowl season. Either way myself or most don't care. What has been talked a lot about on an embarrassing level is MU going in the tank. People are getting let go from their jobs at MU because Pinkle didn't have control over his football team.

Kinda like a shirt after a win over Kentucky. The games against Miami and Florida during the regular season have always been for the "State Championship". Nothing will change next year the year after that.
They should give state championship crab legs instead of rings
Yes. State championship rings in college at a program that's supposed to be 'elite'.
Is it any different than receiving a beaver tail or wooden bucket for winning a rivalry game?(I don't know if those are real). Miami, Florida and FSU all do this if they win the "state title". Hell Ole'Miss got a ring for a bowl game they LOST by 39 points.
Granted Beating Florida and Miami hasn't been what it used to be. Even if Florida gets the cloak of being SEC Least Chumps.
