Does anyone on the boards know about Park Hills? Heading towards districts they're a tough team for me to figure out. They beat Potosi by 36 earlier in the year but lost to them by 6 a couple weeks ago. Then they lost to Cuba, who's better than their record shows but is still just 13-12 this year. Did somebody get hurt or something? Is that part of the state weak this year? Central's two games outside that area are a loss to Cuba and a close win against an Owensville team that has struggled a bit this year.

They're playing inconsistent. I was able to find some articles online from newspapers and found no injuries my reports

They are a very good basketball team. Well coached with a ton of talent. When you are that successful of a program you become everyone's World Series/Super Bowl (especially in conference). They get everyone's best shot night in and night out. Seeing some scores online it looks like they hit a bump in the road when it comes to scoring. I think they'll send a message this week in the MAAA Conference tourney. Their district could be very competitive. Top teams in the district are very guard heavy.

That is an interesting district they are in. I've heard Grandview is really tough, Park Hills is always a threat, Cuba is right there with them, and Steelville has had a nice season. Could see some interesting seeds in that district.

One of the biggest problems for the lady rebs is a lack of size. We were spoiled with two 6 foot plus girls with the Skaggs. Been a tough adjustment this year with playing teams with size. Almost all of the losses this year have come against big teams: North County, Potosi, Cuba, Dexter, all have at least one 6 foot plus girl that are athletic.

Size has been the issue for sure. They still play hard and have all of the fundamentals down. Mapes does a great job. They will figure something out to combat the size come district time.

I don't think size is going to be an issue with them in districts, other than the post from Cuba. Looks like most of the teams in that district are cut from the same cloth, mostly guards. I think it is when they get out of districts and run into Whitfield that size could be a problem. Could be a more competitive district tournament than people originally thought.

Grandview got top seed and Cuba the 2 seed in districts, Central got the 3 seed

Based on head to head and strength of schedules, I think the seeding looks fair. I think any of the top 4/5 teams have a chance here especially if someone gets hot and each team has a player or 2 that can do just that. Based on experience though, PHC is still the team to beat.

grandview the 1........ lots of wins... they may have one of the softest schedules possible... Cuba and Parkhill rematch will be fun to watch. steelville over grandview

One of centrals best players #21 has a back issue. They also don't shoot hardly any threes, a real switch from the past several years. NC beat them for a second time tonight in a defensive struggle with Allie Hammack pulling down a ton of rebounds and handling Centrals press.

I've seen some very inconsistent officiating last season and this season. Some nights both teams might barely touch the bonus, other nights you've got both teams in the bonus in the first and third quarter. Even within games there is a lot of inconsistency, something is a foul one quarter and not in another and calling little hand checks on the outside while allowing blood baths in the post and lane. It's usually hard to score in the post, but I think a big part of that on the high school level is that the rules are often different down there. Putting a hand on a person more than once to impede movement is supposed to be a foul now. That is called on the outside but is almost never called down low, especially off the ball.
