Tourn runs Dec 26-31.

Top four are a combined 16-0. Arcadia Valley and Potosi are playing well. Any thoughts on how this might go?

1-6 is pretty deep, it'll depend on who comes to play each night, Central has had some slow starts and big finishes, St Gen playing well, South Iron has been dominant so far with who they've played, Steelville is pretty young, no seniors on the roster and playing a little faster to add depth to their 1-3-1...1-6 could all give each other great games.

What happened to festus? The big girl and garmon girl both not playing? That’s quite blow to that program

Heard they are focusing on vball and track. Low numbers in the program and the freshmen is out with a knee injury. Guessing that's why the coach left.
Festus should be a power program in the area with the athletes in the district. They haven't had any consistency since Britany Borman stopped playing. Four decent years with the Fraizer/Oetting class, but didn't achieve the goals they were hoping for. Vball and softball rule the JCC.

I think it comes down to Central and South Iron rematch for championship. I think South Iron keeps it closer this year but Central still comes out on top. What a great atmosphere that is on New Years Eve!

And Ste.Gen knocked off South Iron. SI had only 3 points in the 3rd qtr. after leading 24-18 at halftime and Ste. Gen went on to win 52-40.

4 seed Ste. Gen. defeated 3 seed Steeleville 78-74 in double OT for the championship.
2 seed South Iron beat 1 seed PH 51-50 in the 3rd place game.

You are correct sir. I was told Ste. Gen was the 4 and didn't even get a program when I went up there Saturday for the 2 girl's games. Still nice a nice run for both teams to be in the finals and have a battle like they did in the championship. Pretty evenly matched final 4 on the girl's side for sure.

what a tale of two halves...1st half Steelville was awful and St. Gen rolled..then reverse roles in the 2nd half...awesome game in front of a huge crowd. So you can win some championships playing zone apparently.

I would think the size Ste. Gen has would dictate that defense rather spreading things out too much.

I thought both teams' zones applied pressure and extended their zones more than the typical zones. Ste Gen has some tall girls with some quickness and long wing spans. Steelville hit some 3s in the 2nd half to lead the comeback.
Does anyone know the severity of the injury to the Steelville center? Sure looked like an ACL on video, but hope not!!
