Was going to take off at noon tomorrow and run down to Stover to watch a few games. Was going to try and watch California and Fatima for the first time this summer. Looking forward to getting in some summer hoops for the first time!

The surprise of the trip down to the lake was Lift for Life Academy. This team was fast, physical, and big! They were great at getting to the rim and finishing through contact or dumping it off to their post players. I believe they were 5-1 over the first two days with the only loss coming to Fatima in one of the most intense summer games I have watched in a long time.

Cali had two players out hurt/on crutches and from what it looked like and from what I could gather in the stands they had a couple of other players missing for the day. The girls he had played hard and they are well coached. Nothing new there and with all the missing kids there really was not much to see.

Chillicothe girls looked good as usual. Not the best Chilli team I have seen over the years but there is something to be said for consistency and that program is consistently good. Solid man to man d and they shoot it pretty darn good.

Fatima had 13 or 14 girls on the bench and played them all. I cannot believe how long, tall, and aggressive this team is. They even had their big girl back and playing yesterday. She did not play much but she is a game-changer. Against Chilli, she maybe played 4 minutes and scored 10 points. Was the only team to take down a solid Lift for Life squad by pressing a team that was not expecting or used to being pressured.

The small schools on the girls side had lots of good teams. Otterville has everyone back and can really shoot it from deep ( I think only loss was to Chillicothe). Tuscumbia & Meadville looked tough, and will be good again. Stover will sneak up on people who think they will be down after graduating the players from last year.
