Hearing Coach Vanleer is retiring and Pacific will be open. Congrats on a great run! Not sure long he and Coach Brown were there together, but I know it's a long time. Two of the best coaches and dudes I've ever been around.

Van Leer and Brown both finished with basketball after a long and successful stint at Pacific. Congrats to both!

That would be weird looking on that bench and not seeing both of those guys. Congrats to both for sure! Any clue who takes over?

It was for sure fun to be a part of Pacific Basketball. John deserves a ton of credit for the hard work and dedication. His practices were historic. Wish we found a way to win a few more district titles but really no regrets. Have had some great kids to work with and super support from parents and administration. Passing the torch to a new regime. Will miss all the coaching relationships for sure too.

Congrats to Coach Van Leer and Coach Brown on a long run. I always enjoyed going to Pacific to work over the years.

Pacific is a growing district with 980 students in the top four grades for 2020. The facilities are very good with two Gyms @ the high school. The school board has hired one of the top football coaches in the St. Louis area in Paul Day. Paul coached football @ Zumwalt West with great success and won a MSHSAA football state championship @ Vianney.

I see the new basketball coach being a resent Missouri graduate with a heavy resume getting the his first basketball position. If this happens, this is a good hire.

We will miss Thumb doing the Junior Varsity program and John VanLeer doing the varsity basketball team. I guessing Hart Hillhouse will play a role in the newly formed basketball program @ Pacific high school.

Pacific may be the " New Borgia " of Franklin County very soon. John VanLeer and Thumb has the Pacific Basketball program going in the right direction for the newly hired basketball coaches.

The teachers salary schedules are lacking when compared to St. Louis County schools like Rockwood, Parkway, Kirkwood, Hazelwood and other large schools. It appears to me the growth ( New Homes ) is headed toward Pacific's way.

Congratulations to both coaches. Great guys. Always had great respect for both.

My understanding is John is retiring. So I think he did but I don’t know about thumb. I’m assuming he is still going to teach.
