Indians go into enemy territory and get big road win. Little Vanleer had 20 and senior post player Coleton Gabriel had 21. Festus huge guard combo of Woods and Kinder didn't disappoint w both scoring in the 20's. Indians depth proved to be the difference as well as some timely 3 pt shots from Michael Black off the bench. pacific is off til next week before going to rolla.

Thumb, The Indians are playing 4 sophomores on the Varsity this year. The Indians also have nice group of Juniors. Many of my confidants believed Pacific's future was down the road but defeating Festus on the road could mean the future is near. The Festus win was a confidence builder but the Rolla game on the road next week will be tough to win for the young but believing Indians. It appears the Indians are getting maximum production from all roster personnel as the believing continues @ Pacific high school.

Thumb, real fans attend sophomore games. What can we expect from the Junior Varsity team since 3-4 sophomores are in the rotation for the varsity?

Can't give u a full scouting report but the jv squad will do fine. Have some size and a few shooters. Now if they get some decent coaching things will trend up!!
The varsity squad will hit a few bumps in the road but are capable of some big wins. Some experienced guards and some kids who will mix it up in the paint are key. Hopefully with teams like rolla, poplar bluff, Borgia, jeff city and some more large schools on the non conference schedule this team can be battle ready come February.

The school district of Pacific should send a letter to the MSHSAA concerning being in the same district as Borgia for all these years. Enough is enough and changes should be in order. Defeating the Borgia Knights this year would be a task in itself but the young Indians may not know the Borgia reputation and the total domination they have had on Franklin County opponents for the past 30 plus years. I think it would be best not to tell them. Take the young Indian's cell phones, don't let them read the Washington Missourian sports page and don't let them talk to strangers.
