Borgia has lost 10 games this season but look who they played
The Borgia Knights 15-10. Lost 4 out of their last 5 game. The Knights have played a major-major schedule. The competition in class 4 distinct 9 will not overwhelm the Borgia Knights since they have played teams equal to or better then district 9 teams. The Knights are a proud traditional team who have dominated class 4 district 9 teams for years.
The thing that could be a problem for Borgia could be the " Confidence Factor " since the Knights have been lost badly in 4 of their 10 defeats. These 4 teams Class 3 Ritter,Class 4 St. Charles, Class 5 Vianney and Class 5 Jackson put a serve beating on the Borgia Knights. What did Coach Dave Neier say to convince his team that they are " District Ready ".
Here are the teams who have defeated the Borgia Knights this season.
1. CBC
2. Poplar Bluff
3. Ritter
4. St. Charles
5. Columbia Rock Bridge--( Twice )
6. Pacific---( Overtime @ Borgia )
7. Vianney
8. Duchesne--( Won on and lost one )
9. Jackson
The Knight are a uptempo team, pressing team, Zone and man-man half court. The Knight's quickness is average @ best.
Top 3 players:
1. Walter Ecelkamp 6-2" Jr. ( Big outside 3-point shooter--scores in bunches ) 15.7 PPG
2. Luke Deline--------6'3" Jr. ( Luke is coming on strong--Dives to basket and can shoot outside ) 11.5 PPG
3. Alex Mozilla-------6'7" Soph ( Can score inside and appear to be improving )
4. The others are good players as well but Eckelkamp, Deline and Mozilla appears to take a lead role in the offense.
As you can see the Borgia Knights are a very young team with a bright future, the trick here, Is the future now or next year.
Class 4 district 9 appears to be up for grabs. The team who is " District Ready " will advance and play most likely Rolla in the sectionals and will become the underdog.
