The 2010 season in the Ozarks Conference should be exciting
every week with big time players returning such as Hillcrest junior wide
receiver Dorial Green-Beckham and Lebanon quarterback Cole Matlock.

Given the chance to select a pre-season choice for league
champion coaches couldn't come to a consensus selecting five different schools
in the top spot. Check out a quick look at the predicted standings as
selected by league coaches and a break down of each team.

Ozarks Pre-Season Conference Notes:

1. Rolla-- Josh Smith returns for year two
leading the Bulldogs after a successful 11-2 season including a playoff run.

"We hope to build on our success of recent seasons", commented
Smith. We will look to establish our running game on offense and not give up big
plays defensively. We have some decent skill kids returning with varsity
experience and we hope they can improve from last year. We lost every offensive
and defensive lineman from last season, so replacing them will be very important
to our success."

Senior
linebacker Jeremy Williams (5-9 185) was named the top
defensive player in the Ozarks Conference and returns along with fellow
all-conference performer Jamie Phelps (5-10 195) at linebacker.
On offense senior quarterback Jake Morris(6-3 205) and senior
running back Jonny Canhos(6-0 205) each return after garnering
top league honors.

Drew Hagni,
also returns at TE/LB a top
performer on each side of the football.

2. Camdenton--The Lakers finished 7-3
missing the playoffs a year ago, a rare feat in the distinguished tenure of head
coach Bob Shore(358-93-3). Shore returns plenty of talent this season
giving the Lakers high expectations.

Senior Cayden Shockley
returns after earning all league honors at defensive back and running back.
Derek VanKluyve earned top honors on both offensive and
defensive line. The defensive line will be solid with the return of
seniors Chris Sullens and Live Calvert.

3.
Lebanon
-- "We have a lot of seniors and our
expectations are high", commented head coach Will Christian. "However, we must perform more consisitant and
have a greater effort on a daily basis to reach our goals."

Leading the Yellow Jacket attack senior quarterback
Cole Matlock
(6-1 195) returns as the top league quarterback. Senior
wideout Will Cuffey(6-2 180) will be a top threat and favorite
target for Matlock. Austin Harris WR/FS returns after
earning all-league honors on both sides of the ball in 2009.

On defense senior defensive lineman Ryan Bradshaw and senior
linebacker Kody Tipton return to lead the 3-3-5 scheme what will feature 9
returning starters.

4.
Hillcrest
-- The Hornets finished 7-5 venturing into the Class 4
playoffs a season ago. Head coach Jon Beckham says of his team "the
strength of our team will be at the skilled positions". That's saying a
lot with the return of junior

Dorial Green-Beckham
a supreme talent who has blown up since last
season and currently holds offers from nearly every Division I school in the
country.

Micheal McShane(5-10 175) returns at running back, while free
safety Luke Thopmson, defensive back Levi Harrell, defensive back Jeremy
Coleman, senior lineman Jordan Gardner, and senior linebacker Michael Scherer
all return on defense after earning league honors.

5.
Parkview
--"We return a lot of talented players
and depth at the skill positions", commented Wes Beachler who begins his
fifth season at Parkview. "The question will be can a corps of
talented and strong, but inexperienced linemen step up on both sides of
the ball play to the level we have had the past two seasons."

Darin Francis returns at running back where
he earned all-conference honors and will also play linebacker. On the line
Brian Nelson(5-10 230) is a talented two-way performer. FB/LB
Blake Williams
(5-10 225) has good size and is skilled. QB
Cory Faz
(5-10 175) returns to direct the Viking offense.

6.
Joplin-
- The Eagles return to a brutal district schedule that includes
Raymore Peculiar and Rockhurst following a 4-6 season, but will be competitive
in the Ozarks Conference title. Sophomore running back Chris
Payton-Barb
a, a relative of Chicago Bear great Walter Payton will be
counted on to use his outstanding speed on offense. Senior Aaron
Frost
(6-2 210) will be a newcomer at quarterback and will rely on the
blocking of returning all-conference left guard Alex Woodard(6-1
255).

On defense
several all-conference performers return including senior corner Gabe Sharp(5-8
160), junior free safety Cameron Rector(6-2 180), senior strong
safety Stevan Freeborn(5-10 200), and senior linebacker
Griffin Sonaty
(6-0 195). Keep an eye out for sophomore outside
linebacker Adam St. Peter(6-4 210) an honorable mention
performer who is already drawing recruiting interest from Division I programs.=

7. Waynesville-- The Tigers look to
regroup following a 3-7 campaign in 2009. Veteran head coach Rick Vernon
will see the return of several all-league performers including senior linebacker
Daian Fadl and senior defensive back J.C. Wilson.
On offense senior running back Josh Riley returns along with
senior offensive lineman Delancey Rougley and senior wideout Devin
Foster
.

8. Kickapoo-- The Chiefs finished 5-5 a
season ago and return senior Coleton Cloud at running back along with senior
Clayton Allison an all-league performer at linebacker.

9. Glendale-- 2-8 a season ago the
Eagles hope to elevate to the middle of the Ozarks Conference. On offense junior
running back Trevor Vaughn should have a big season. On defense senior
linebacker Tommy Young and senior defensive back Adam Noble will lead the
way.

10. West Plains-- The big news in West Plains
is the addition of veteran head coach Jack Randolph to the
Zizzer sidelines. Randolph comes to the Ozarks Conference after a long
tenure at Marshfield.
