I will say that many of the people that wanted the championship to expand from the BCS championship to a 4 team playoff are the same complaining that the semifinal games usually aren’t close. This year the BCS title game would have been Bama vs Clemson.
Honestly I think Bama is going to rout Clemson as well this year.
As a Sooner fan it is just frustrating because if OU had a defense anywhere in the area of the ones they had in early Stoops era they are probably playing for back to back titles next week. In a few years the defense will be improved but offense probably won’t be as good.

Pretty much. Didn’t win a conference. Hasn’t won anything bowl-wise since whenever. Things Clemson and Alabama have done over and over again. They’re basically ucf with ancient history to fall back on.
They had a better record against top 10 and top 30 teams. How can you say they havent beaten better teams then clemson. ND sure in the hell hasnt shown up in the big games that for dang sure. But no one is going to tell me when you have around a top 10 recruiting class EVERY year that they dont have the athletes to be able to get close to the playoffs every year

Ok. So I ask again. Now your going to judge what past teams have done and their track record is vs one specific year and that particular team as decision maker. Lol? How far back you going to go? Better not go back to far or ND will hold more than its own. They are the very first team to get their own network deal
I’m not talking about going back. I’m talking about what the players on the team have done. Nobody from those ND teams that were championship level are still on the team. Rick Mirers eligibility ran out awhile back. But Georgia is full of players that barely lost a national championship game.

Nd had their chance. This year and 2012 and got embarrassed both times. They haven't won a major bowl in 25 years.

If they were in a power 5 conference they would have had to have won a conference championship game as well. Ou was rightfully snubbed so they started playing a championship game. The championship game is usually one of the toughest games on the schedule for teams who make the playoff. Alabama had to beat Georgia, Oklahoma had to beat Texas. If ND was in the acc they would have to beat Clemson to earn a spot and we saw how that turned out.
And since when is navy in a power 5 conference?

If they kept embarrassing themselves I think reasonable people would stop wanting them to get in. Whether they’re still independent or in a conference.
Your reputation means something. NDs reputation would have to be revamped before I would let them into the playoff. Maybe win a New Years 6 Bowl first.

If ND would get in the conference and go undefeated with around a top 10 recruiting class, then we have to go by past bowl appearances. Lol.
