Putnam County and Milan will decide later this month.

A little more info about Milan and Putnam County in the link. It sounds like they may not join, but still have until Feb 27 to decide.

If Putnam County and Milan are going to leave the Tri-Rivers conference, I would think a move to the Lewis and Clark makes more sense. Hope they both stay put however.

I'd love to see some other schools do this, especially in basketball.
You'd just have to set it up so your long trips are on Friday not Tuesday.
For sports like volleyball I could see some double duels, etc. to reduce travel.

I think staying put makes the most sense for them. I can see concerns about stability of a 6 team conference though. Personally a merger of the TRC and LCC would make sense also. I know LCC tried to get Monroe City and South Shelby. They would have made more sense than Putnam County and Milan. I like the GRC at 14 teams and As someone who has kids at SJC, Putnam County and Milan seem like they are too far away. We do travel that far for some football now, but not basketball.

I think this will boost the competition in the Grand River Conference. Do any of those schools have wrestling?

Trenton has wrestling. Rumor has it that North Andrew is starting it.

Albany, Stanberry, South Harrison, Polo, Gallatin, Maysville all currently have wrestling programs in the GRC

North Andrew and St Joe Christian will be starting wrestling next season and co-op with each other.
