with our main guy on the mound missing a 2nd day of workouts and headed for a shoulder exam.

I don't follow other teams, and don't follow the Cardinals like I used to, but does it seem like this happens every year? As in right when spring training starts, arm issues appear? Seems odd the way these guys work out 12 months a year that arm issues would arise right as spring training gets going. I know they aren't throwing as much and as heavy in Dec, Jan, Feb, as they are during the season, just seems odd to me.

For the Cardinals to be a WS team, we are counting on an ancient Waino to have another incredible year, DeJong to hit like he did in 2017, a rookie to come up big at DH, and some mediocre pitchers to keep us in the race until our fragile “star” pitchers prove to be healthy. Championship!

Maybe it's not a coincidence that they workout so much and come up lame in the spring. Sometimes the body just need some rest.

Now that you say that, this generation of players is coming from growing up playing the game way longer than they used to. Meaning when I played your summer season was about 3 months long, obv nowadays it is year round in a lot of cases. My daughter's softball team practices twice a week starting Jan 2, they finish at 8 pm on Tuesday evenings, and there are 10 and 12 yr old teams who practice after them. Totally crazy.
