I don't see them making a big money deal for FA SS after giving the big bucks for Arenado.

Agreed. They’ll dumpster dive for a SS or roll Dejong and/or Sosa back out there. Story is the only one they can really afford, and I’m not sure they value him all that much.

I'm telling you, if they would actually get aggressive and get Seager or Correra I could live with Gorman as the DH. Be done with the offense at that point. But get a middle rotation starter and a pen arm too. No matter what they'll try to sell you, they weren't close last year. Not at all. If not for a historic late run, they were a middling .500ish team.

Mo is already taking up DeJong. Says he thinks its a bit unfair to not have some optimism about his future. Is he planting the seed for a club to take him in a trade or saying he's still our guy? I'm certainly not getting any hopes up.

Oh, he's still our guy mode. Been hurt all year. Why his numbers suffered. Getting him back healthy is as good as making a trade...I know the lingo by now.

Danny Mac was already trying to tamp down the expectations on his radio show today. Don’t expect any real interest in a SS. They will sign a middle of the road pitcher or two and hope one of the prospects is the hitter we crave.

2021 was the lowest on base percentage of any Cardinals team since 1988. Yes that’s the worst in 33 years. You need an overhaul to fix that, not a tweak.
