Per last year I now include schools from Benton, Henry and Bates counties (plus Osceola because they are in the WEMO and West Central member Nevada) so there tend to be more weekly games and I don't want to catch anyone off guard not used to seeing them in this contest.
The rules are exactly the same for the regular season as they have been the past four years:
Winning selections are worth one point.
You get a one point bonus if your team wins by 30+ and, conversely, a one point deduction if your team selected loses by 30+.
You also can earn (this is pretty rare but has happened) a one point bonus if you are the only one to select a winner and the customary deduction should you be the only one to select a losing team.
Each week games will appear sometime on Monday (I now have a variable work schedule so bear with me some weeks) with a strict 7 PM THURSDAY deadline to accomodate the possibility of games being played that evening. There will be no weekly tiebreak until Week 9.
Each late Friday night and (there will be some Saturday games) at the conclusion of all NWCMO Pick Em games I will post a scoreboard for your convenience.
Once each week is complete the weekly and overall stats will post.
PRIZES: As has been the customary case the overall 1st-3rd place finishers will earn gift cards (amounts TBD) as will one weekly winner drawn from ALL winners (in the event of ties all qualifying players earn a drawing entry) again with a TBD gift card. I will conduct a non-biased drawing immediately after the conclusion of Week 9.
Per usual issues tend to arise as the season arrives and I will address any of those as they happen. Anyone with questions etc. please do not hesitate to respond to this thread.
The Playoff Challenge, a whole other contest unto itself, will return beginning with district week 1. Look for the completely different set of rules etc. in October.
