Thats easy to figure........just go to max prep's and go to rankings then scroll down to the last page......says 336How many schools (8-man through Class 6) have a football program?
Sad to hear. But soccer is something that St. Louis schools are very good at, and that the rest of the state does lose to them in.Not sure about any where else but in the St. Louis area less and less kids
are playing football. I saw rosters of less than 30 kids. Many schools don't field
lower level teams. The concussion scare has a lot of parents keeping
kids from playing plus soccer is huge up here.

smaller schools dropping football in the next few years. Kennedy, Maplewood,
Barat Academy ,Northwest Academy dropped this year. There are rumors of more
next year. There have been some very gruesome injuries that have brought a lot
of attention to football this year, hope I am wrong but that 336 figure I think will take
a huge hit in coming years.
In an article from the STL area previewing the Lamar/Brentwood game I read that Brentwood only has 24 on the roster. I could be wrong, but I would imagine that schools in that scenario are not able to play freshman/JV games, therefore hindering the development of the program.
It's crazy to me that Maplewood went from being in the state championship in 2010 and the quarterfinals in 2011, to not having a team in 2015.
