NRA A+ Scott Walker to have Gun Free announcement

Is Scott Walker a legitimate candidate? Everything I've read he seems like a person I could at least look into voting for.

I lean Republican, as do most of the people in my area so obviously when we talk about Republican politicians those people are generally supportive. Duck, I know you lean democrat, so other than this article is there any red flags for this guy? Honest question, trying to do my due diligence and get both sides. Crazy, I know.

Walker is the person I would be least likely to vote for on either side. The reason for me is that I value education to an extreme. Walker is a college dropout who's claim to fame is taking on the teachers unions in Wisc. cutting their benefits and literally turning a lot of Americans against teachers.

He is backed by the Koch brothers who believe in things like complete elimination of the minimum wage, the Epa, etc.

To me Walker is an extremist. If you look at the economic performance of his state, it is not good. But once again. I'm very biased against this guy. However, there are other republicans I will definitely consider in 2016.

I find it humorous they you think Duck "leans" democrat. Duck spends a lot of time digging up dirt on republicans, if he spent the same amount of energy on democrats, I fear he would find the same thing.

Yea like maybe trying to figure out how Hillary turned a $1000 investment in cattle futures into $100,000 in ten months when she was First Lady of Arkansas

Why even bring that up? I'm not voting for Hillary unless Walker is my only other choice.
Hillary is a republican. She will act like a dem during the primary season. And people like Cowherd who weren't even born when Clinton was in office have no idea what the Clinton's are about. Bill happened to be in office when the tech bubble inflated and thinks he did it. They helped deregulate the banks and blew up our economy.

It's that some of us lean anti-republican because they are the dumber party and make really easy targets right now.

The republicans are "dumber party"?

Is this the same smart Democratic Party that fell for all of W's lies ?

A) I was born before bill Clinton took office.

B) The economy started to improve in the latter part of '94 into '95. The tech bubble started in '97. Clinton clearly improved the economy before the tech bubble.

C) I'll vote for Hillary because she's smart and I think she'd make a good idea president. I'd also consider voting for Jeb bush. It's not a party thing for me, it's who I think would make the best president.

D) I don't hold it against Hillary that she's more conservative on some issues. The republicans have good ideas. Why do you have to be ideological on all issues?

Lol. That's going to leave a mark...

What mark does that leave? The Rs nominated and voted for him. The Ds opposed nearly all of his bad agenda besides Iraq. They wanted Medicare Part D to be funded, they opposed his tax cuts, the only real opposition to the Patriot Act, they opposed torture, etc.

Were you sleeping from 2001-2008?

Where does this "Hillary is conservative" thing come from? She's conservative relative to Bernie Sanders, and she's more of a hawk than some Ds, but she's a mainstream D overall.

Has it been that long since 2008 that we've forgotten that Obama ran to her RIGHT in the primary?

He won in large part running to her left on Iraq, by far the largest issue in the democratic primaries. I would also argue that Obama ran to the left of her on race. Bill stepped on that landmine a few times, most notably in South Carolina.

Of course she's mainstream democrat, but mainstream democratic values are not as ideologically stringently left as the right. Mainstream republican primary voters are much more conservative than mainstream democratic primary voters are left.

Sorry kids but stop living in denial. Wall Street OWNS the Clinton's. No matter how she "runs".

Support of the war in Iraq ought to be enough to let you know that they are not the "smarter" party, according to you liberals. "We have to pass it to see what's in it". "The only people allowed to complain about illegal immigrants are native Americans." ~ Obama (D) Illinois. "Don't worry about what candidates have done or said, just vote for the Democrats. Then, afterwards, you can go eat fried chicken." ~ Michelle Obama (D) First Lady. “Don’t let anybody tell you it’s corporations and businesses that create jobs!" ~ Hillary Clinton (D) New York. "Honored to join my colleagues & @OfficialCBC at‪#‎USAfrica‬Leaders Summit to discuss the valuable relationship between our two countries!" ~ Nancy Pelosi (D) California. “There is no reason the nation of Africa cannot, and should not, join the ranks of the worlds most prosperous nations.” ~ Joe Biden (D) Delaware.
And I was making a bunch of money from 2001-2008. Hard to do that sleeping.

There is some that used to say that all Clinton did was stay out of the way of the policies that Bush senior put in place. Never really looked into it.

Oh, wow, you found soundbites, holy cow it's over now.

On substantive party matters, the Rs have generally been the party of stupid. They destroyed the budget and continue to advocate for destroying it. They want to impose theocracy on the country. They deny science and economics. Etc.

The Ds are not "good" overall, but they are more intellectually consistent with their arguments.

To add something to the comments of others in these threads...the Presidential candidate who has come closest to my beliefs in the last few elections was Jon Huntsman. They basically ran him out of the R Party for not being stupid enough.

A significant % of Clinton's economic policy went into place at the beginning of his term - his tax increase and his free trade pushes.

It's inaccurate to claim all he did was take what Bush Sr. did.

I do have to say there must be something to what Ol'Rumor is saying. The Democrats did get the stupid majority to vote Obummer into office a second go around. Something the Republicans could do nothing about.

Pretty hard for incumbents to lose unless they really are bad. Look at Bush in 2004 and Obama in 2012.

In my heart, I think Romney would have been a better President, but I couldn't vote for what his party is right now. I don't think that's a good thing for the country that a good man like that is encumbered by a party with too much nonsense.

Funny that "sound bites/proof of stupidity" are posted and you want to be a smart ass. I guess I should have just said it and you would have believed me. They ALL are pretty much stupid.

For you to claim the pubs are stupid and then say the dems disagreed with him on everything he did right, and then agreed with him on what he done wrong is funny.

He did the rest of it wrong, too. They opposed the vast majority of his stupid policies. They just got one major one spectacularly wrong like he did.

Getting 1 wrong is a lot better than getting 100 wrong. We talk a lot about Iraq because it's still going on, but he made so many other bad decisions. Notably, the Dems were very opposed to his destruction of the Federal budget. We wouldn't have anywhere near $18 trillion of debt if we had elected Gore.

If you step back and look at the core of what the parties want...only one party's platform is at least coherent and aligned with science and economics right now.
