Novinger Tournament 'Live' Bracket

Re: Scotland Co. 96; Bevier 5

I would have to agree Goose.

How did Green City vs Novinger go on the boys side ?

I know nothing about these two teams, but have seen this before several times. In all but one of the cases I have witnessed, there was no intent on the better team to run up the score, they simply just ran their offense and played defense. Unless you tell your team to just hold the ball at half court, this will happen occasionally when you get a great disparity of talent.

I have been around several teams in the last few years who had the talent to beat their opponant by 100. Thankfully, I have never seen this happen. It does the starter's no good to play against such an inferior opponant, so normally the coach will go down the bench until he matches up better. In my opinion, it is also disrespecful to the opponant, who is not fortunate to be able to compete.

I understand the people who say "get better" or "it's not my job to play down to your level" but come on,....91 pts.

Agreed that it doesn't help the better team. In the games I have seen, these were mostly in tournaments where #1 was matched up against #16, and in those cases the starters did not play the entire second half. Not a good game situation for either team, but it does happen.

Novinger won by about 10. Had it cut to 1 in the third, then reverted to 1 pass and shoot a 3 (not so bad if you hit them, which we don't).
