does anybody know why the driver is on the LH side of our cars and trucks? When you watch any old cowboy shows or movies the driver of a stagecoach, wagon or buggy is almost always on the RH side. They even help a woman or kid on board then climb over them to get to RH side to drive. I assume something in our history shows this to be correct so when and why did we switch?

You always drive a wagon or buggy from the right side so you can throw a line or whip with your right hand. If you were on the left side you would've hitting the passenger all the time.

Don't have a clue why cars drive from the left though
