When you don't hit, don't defend, don't pitch. and don't manage chances are you are not going to win it is no surprise that the boys are headed to the golf course. Still had a lot of fun debating this team during the summer and would argue it was a successful season and am looking forward to next year. Go Cards!!!!!

Agreed. Other than the home run surge they didn't really play or manage that well. Crazy thing was they were still right there and had a chance in every game. I think experience won out in the end. It's no fluke that San Fran is moving on. 3 WS out of 5 years isn't all luck. It was fun while it lasted and it'll be fun to see if the young guys can continue to improve next year. The future is bright for the Cards.

Anybody who says it wasn't a successful season is being ridiculous.

I like the way the Birds look next season. Will need to look at pitching both pen and starting.

1B. Adams
2B. Wong
SS. Peralta
3B. Carp

RF. ??
CF. ??
LF. Holliday

What do you do with, Jay, OT and Grichuk coach?

Anybody that wants to get rid if Jay after this season and post season has lost their mind. he not only hit .500 in the post season he hit .500 against their LH ace.

Yeah well David Freese did alright in the postseason once also. That was not the reason to keep him around. Jay had a solid year, but most feel what we saw this year was not the regular.

You're WRONG on that. Last year was not the regular John Jay, he has hit .290 to .300 in his career and played better defensively all the other years he has been out there. He even tore up LH pitching this year.

Jay had a great year. The RF spot will be interesting to watch. It is obvious Matheny isn't as high on Taveras as everyone else seems to be, but after watching his decisions the past few weeks I would say that is par for the course.

He struggled like a lot of young players struggle at first, but there isn't a long list of guys that just come up and take the game over.

Absolutely, Coach, not writing him off, just saying he shouldn't have been starting playoff games in October 2014.

I hope he's starting them for the next 15 seasons.
