NMCC 105, Charleston 92 (F-2 OT).........NMCC to play.......

Scoreboard at Dexter had him with 51 so it was a bunch either way even it was equal to a 5 quarter game. Charleston's Bogan was in foul trouble early and missed about half of the 1st half. He was was up to 30 something points when he fouled out.

NMCC led by 3 with about 12 seconds left in regulation but chose NOT to foul before a Charleston kid hit the game tying 3 as time was running out. I don't understand the thinking of NOT fouling with a 3 point lead when the clock gets under 10 seconds, or at least down to 5. PB girls lost their district semi final game when they had a 3 point lead with 4.2 seconds left in regulation and did not foul a Jackson player after they got the ball inbounds. They hit a 3 to send it OT and won the game.

I agree with you 3R

If a team has a real threat from beyond the arc, there is no way I'm letting him have a chance to tie the game with a 3, and if they don't have one I'm still likely to foul them and put them on the line. The odds are against them pulling off the following:

1--hitting the first free throw
2--missing the 2nd one and being able to pull a rebound
3--then hitting a shot to tie it

Yeah PB couldn't get it going against Jackson tonight even after holding them to 2 points in the 2nd quarter.

Actually...................the number one seed SLUH wore white and won. Not sure that qualifies as an upset..................

Re: I saw two upsets in class 5 tonight plus----class 4 Borgia, Pacific

Why did they play last night? Short turnaround especially after 2 ot's.

Re: I saw two upsets in class 5 tonight plus----class 4 Borgia, Pacific

Freezing rain, sleet and 10 inches of snow around these parts backed up a lot of games. It didn't seem to bother NMCC today, they jumped out to big lead early and ran a LOT of time off the running clock in the 4th quarter so as not to run up the score.

Snowed out down here in SEMO. Pushed everything back except the games that got played Monday.
