So the NFL has the ability to empirically test the speed of players, and they are going to forgo the use of that information? That seems odd. I thought speed was an integral part of the game of football?

Well can drop all the tests. The bench. The shuttle. Vertical. Broad jump. Hell, just eye ball it. Make sure to bring in some commentators from MoRivals that can just eyeball who they think are the players that will make it in the NFL.
Well, Tyreek Hill had zero football skills, and runs routes wrong. My eyeballs tell me his 40 times don't mean D*(K I see how this works.

Did Jerry Rice have a slow 40?
It's a trope to say Jerry Rice had a terribly slow 40 time. A lot of people are throwing this out in the various Laquon Treadwell fracases . Yes, if you google "Jerry Rice 40", you get 4.71. It's not correct or based on any source I could find. According to Bill Walsh in an oft-quoted interview, it was a 4,59 FAT. USE my chart and that is a 4.4 hand time. Not bad

Who actually thinks that speed isn't a vital element of football? Some just think it isn't the end-all-be-all of measurements, though it is an important one. As one of your other accounts said, you have to combine the objective measureables. And, as we all know and have seen, sometimes even those don't quite get it right when it comes to on the field play. That's when the eyeball test comes in.
