New Proposal for Football Play offs - Modified Proposal 2

After meeting with MSHSAA it was fairly obvious that no one in the Southwest region liked Proposal 1 - regarding the play offs. The Southwest Conference would like to submit another proposal - a modified proposal 2;

Week 1-7 Regular Season Games Week 1-6Regular Season Games
Week 8-10 District Games Week 7-9 District Games

Week 11 Sectionals Week 10 Start of Bracket Play


**also, to ensure a 10 game
season Both 3rd place finishers
would play each other as well as
both 4th place finishers.

Home site determined By Odd/Even

Winner of - District A
Champions vs District B Runner up
- would play -
District A Runner up vs
District B Champions.

Home site would be determined by
1st – who had played at home Week 10
2nd- If both teams either played at home or
away – then the top seeded team from their district
would have home field.

From the sectional game on the format would be the same thru the state championship game.

ADVANTAGES We would be able to carry 2 teams into a playoff system
All teams would be allowed to play a 10 game schedule.
There would be no seeding of teams.

Disadvantages We would have only 6 Regular Season Games
