Good evening all!

While I am an experienced basketball head coach I will be new to the football coaching world and very excited about it. I will be a 7th grade head coach in southwest Missouri.

I am curious if there are any other coaches on here who would be willing to share some pointers or even perhaps some fundamental drills/sample practice plans? First day of practice is August 3rd and its quickly approaching!

Thank you in advance to any who are willing to help out! I will be glad to send my email address for those who have anything!

I would think your varsity head coach would be the go to guy for help???

Go to YouTube and watch videos. USA football has a channel and Thomas macpherson has one that's a little more advanced. The most important thing to teach in jr high is fundamentally sound football. Also try and use same terminology for holes and defensive alignments and plays. If your coaching 7th grade USA football has plenty of drills. Teach tackling we use heads up tackling from USA football and I am a big believer in it. If we don't change the way we tackle we'll all be coaching soccer. Club up and grab cloth is what I always tell my players. I am a former varsity coach and current head MS coach. Oh and if you have a hudl account they have some good resources too.
