New 11-man programs and/or schools for 2018 ?

Don't have a clue. But, I think from here on out they're going to be 1-year cycles.

Doniphan is starting this year, and I believe their first game is against Cabool.

Forsyth started last year but was not eligible for districts as they weren't in the cycle. They will have a full schedule and district this year.

I have heard off and on that Clever may be starting soon as they got jr high football now? I need someone to help me clarify that.

St. Michael's in Lee Summit had football last year but was not in districts - they will be this year Probably class 2.

Is it current 9-11 grades, meaning they are not counting next years freshman class?

From what I understood, it is current 9-11 grades. I am guessing since some cities have open enrollment for freshman years, it may not be an accurate number to include incoming 8th grade classes.

Correct on both facts.

Thanks. This makes since especially when you consider that freshman don't typically start on varsity at most schools. I realize a lot of your smaller schools have freshman playing up but starting is still rare.

By the way, heard some preliminary numbers on some schools. There might be some shifting about using the 9-11 for some KC area schools...including Platte County and Grain Valley

Not sure on Platte County, but Grain Valley is one of the fastest growing communities in the KC metro area. If they are not class 5 this cycle it will definitely happen next cycle.

So 3 new programs that we know of?
Doniphan, Forsyth and St. Michaels?

Sounds like a few schools are going to be pushed up a class if these are all coming in at Class 2.

There were 7 open slots in classes 1 and 2 last year. Schools that dropped, closed, or backed out of district play. They won't bump anyone up, but will keep a couple from dropping.
