Had a team drop out of our Holiday tournament. It is from December 26-December 29. One of the best 1 A Venues in the state, GREAT HOSPITALITY room. Jackets for the coaches, call Head Basketball Coach/Principal Brad Shockley at (Cell)417-254-4663 or at school, 417-962-3153 ext 301 or Athletic Director Vince McCrosky (Coach Mac) (cell)417-254-0440, or at school 417-962-3153 ext 326

I’m guessing they’ll need an extra two teams next year. Assuming that Dora isn’t invited back that is.

Dora will be a good draw, it would be silly to uninvite them. They would quickly find a new tournament. This free throw thing is overblown, I've seen it dozens of times and no big deal made out of it. My own grandson got switched out of free throws twice that I know of and I probably missed other guys getting their throws taken by a better shooter.

It's a big deal. It was blatant, it was cheating, and it was condoned by an administrator. Dora will have a hard time outliving that legacy, so will that coach.

Correct. 3 of the coaches sons are on the team and the coach is also the principal if I’m correct.

All 3 boys pitch for their dad as well...changing uniforms would be an interesting way to get around that pesky pitch count rule.

I disagree and am surprised nothing is being done. It is intentional CHEATING. It would be interesting to review this years games. I bet they have done it before.

I never saw the day that I would see Dora envy and jealousy among basketball fans. Bunch of grumpy old men.

Not envious. I promise. This is a serious moral violation and on top of that, what do you think his sons think is most important. And what do all the other young men on the team think is most important?

A coach and school administrator doing this is shameful. He has such an opportunity to reach young men and show them how to conduct themselves, instead he teaches them “win at all costs.”

It wouldn’t matter to me who it may be doing this. Wrong is wrong is wrong. If Coach Pope and the Vatican City Saints were caught doing this I’d still say it’s wrong.

I didn't say it was right, but I find it funny to see you guys get your bloomers all bunched up so tight. I can point out other forms of cheating that offend me more than this, but there won't be anything done about. This likely will be punished by MSHSAA due to the outrage, but they won't take on more serious cheating by member schools for political reasons.

Apparently honesty is only a value for old people...also, not old.

I'm 70 myself, but this is not as big a deal as you and others are making it out to be. It is an unusual situation with the triplets, but not an unusual happening in Missouri basketball. First time I ever saw it was as a ninth grade player shooting fifty percent from the FT line being replaced by a teammate who was shooting 75 percent. That was 1962, and I improved my free throw shooting and never got replaced by a teammate again. However, I have seen it done at least 50 times in the thousands of HS games I have coached or watched as a spectator. I will say that I never tried the switcheroo with my teams, it isn't right, but it isn't going away any time soon.

Only if scorers table folks and referees allow it.

I’m not saying it should make national news or be shocking, but it needs condemned. The coach is lying to the media and deceiving opponents. Worst off are the lessons he is teaching those around him and under his supervision.

The MSHSAA will make an example of little old Dora, don't worry. All those life lessons will be upheld.

Right, I have seen crews stop it, but never a scorers table. Sometimes the crew itself puts the wrong shooter at the free throw line, just mistakes the number or something. Just a part of the game and it will never be perfect.

This is like OJ getting 33 years for stealing his sports memorabilia back. They cheat anyway possible. Try to get a hold of the Eminence film from last year. Does anyone even wonder why they don't play in any sports this season. Three of the dirtiest leg sweeps you will ever see away from the main action. One resulted in a torn ACL for an Eminence player. Talk to any coach in basketball or baseball in SWMO and they will tell you the same thing.
