Nasa " Common Sense Climate Index"

It's pretty funny you would post that the day after the big NOAA story came out.
Honestly didnt even see it till now, but if you read the thing they broke the very first rule of scientific analysis

Within the last decade, thousands of new weather stations have been built in previously under-reported areas on land and a vast network of buoys have been deployed that more accurately measure sea surface temperatures. Karl and colleagues reanalyzed global temperature trends with the new data and corrected for ocean temperature discrepancies.

The NOAA scientists found that the world warmed 0.086 degrees Celsius per decade between 1998 and 2012, more than double the previous estimates. When the researchers included 2013 and 2014—when record-breaking heat spread across the globe—warming per decade jumped to 0.116 degrees Celsius.

They are now using data from "thousands" of new weather stations built in the last ten years to show global warming never really stopped.

Since they have no baseline data from those new reporting stations for the previouse century how in the world can they add new data to their timeline without coresponding data from previouse years from the same sites?? You NEVER change a test procedure in the middle of a process then just carry on.

My point of linking that graph from Joplin is what the heck made it get so dang hot for a few years back in the 50's.....not to start argument about something nobody is never going to change their opinion on.

Uhh..that's not the first rule of science.

Improving your measurement, to the extent it is feasible at a realistic cost, is a good outcome for any scientific experiment.

They don't need old data on these sites to show what happened there from 1998-2014 - the period in question. We've build a lot of weather stations over time. We don't say, gosh, we can't determine if there was climate change prior to 1980 because we didn't build a weather station on this Pacific island until 1980. We had a credible data set for that time period based upon the observations that were available elsewhere. Now, in order to understand the problem, we have added more locations to help further understand how climate change is impacting the earth. That's a good outcome that helps us improve our understanding of how climate change is occurring in various places on earth.

Also, 2013 and 2014 are new data points that everyone is updating their climate models to include. You don't get to arbitrarily cut the model off at 2012. Guess what? 2014 was the hottest year in modern recorded history!

I just want to know what happened at my house in the 50's :).............why did it get so hot there for 3-4 years then cool right back off?

true,,,,,,,,,,,but why in the heck would that happen that quick and that hot, then just stop??

You are right Dangos let's just keep crapping on our planet it is going to last forever

Yes when I look my grand daughter in the eye I know how we leave this planet doesn't matter for her or her children. Screw earth.

Here is exactly why I and a lot of people dont believe the man made global warming crowd. Back at the first of the year NOAA released the new data set comparing the new sea temp data from buoy's compared to ship collected data.

here is the first data set they published, averaged and plotted which they now labe dl as "incorrect" compared to the new data set they just released "proving" the earth hasnt stopped warming. The problem with their first data set was that the temp average at the end of 2014 ended up dead nuts on the data average, Not the result at all they were looking for. SO they did what any climate change proponent would do,,they went back and changed their correction factors so it would give them the results they were looking for.

You do realize that watt's up with that is a crank website, right? It's infowars for climate change deniers. There's no science on that website.

The bottom line is that 2014 was the hottest year ever and that rising atmospheric levels of carbon caused by man-made emissions are a major cause of this rise in temperature.

You really need to stop seeking out made up data and commentary which validates your internal beliefs and review the actual evidence. There is a broad scientific consensus. There is, substantively, no peer-reviewed paper which makes a case that human action causing greenhouse gas emissions is not a major cause of the earth's warming over the past few decades.

All we find out with more data and more research is that the deniers are incredibly misguided.

Even Lindsey Graham said the other day he believes in man-made warming.

I really don't see this as a problem instead of going to the moon or Mars we will just live like that here. Go to Macy's and buy a nice space suit when they have a red tag sale. Just what I want for our grand kids

You do understand I hope that the "Warmest Year on Record" of 2014 was only 1.2 degrees F above the 20th century average dont you???
That would tell me that the earths temperature is pretty damn stable. We have only been keeping modern records for about 140 years and thats not even a blink in historical climate terms.

And if you look at Ice core data from Volstok,,, 2014 wasnt even close to the hottest year on record, and our CO2 levels are way below the highest ever recorded.

Keep drinking the Kool Aid
