This district final game takes place Friday night in Aurora. #1 seed Clever vs #2 seed Mt Vernon.

Should be a good match up. Any predictions?

I will take Clever in a low scoring affair. Vernon will control the pace early and keep it close with changing defenses and patient offense but the clever offense will be too much.

I will take Mt. Vernon. Clever struggled with quick teams like Skyline and Blue Eye. Mt. Vernon may be quicker than either.

It'll come down to Clever's offensive strategy and how they choose to defend the top two on Mt Vernon

Clever has struggled with Blue Eye and Skyline, but they also man-to-man press/ run and jump defensively and attack the basket non-stop on the offensive end. Mt. Vernon has the same kind of speed, but they primarily play 1-2-2 on defense and much less dribble drive on offense. I think if Mt. Vernon needs a big game from someone outside of Stokes and Johnston. I’m going to guess Clever as well here, but close. 52-47. Clevenger will hit a couple big shots down the stretch to seal it.

Clever hasn't won a district title since 1990 on the girls side, so this will obviously be their best shot
