Not impressed with CJ at all. Mt. Vernon is pretty good but CJ looked bad. Mt.Vernon closed the game on a 43-13 run. Mt.Vernons tallest player is 5”8 and CJ could still do nothing.
Interesting you say that. CJ has 5 girls in the entire program, and I mean 7th through 12th grade, who will ever have the capability of playing minutes on a good varsity team. Those are the 5 varsity starters this year. The good thing for CJ is a few of those 5 players, and one in particular, are capable of being college players. They just have zero depth. The coach will leave in the next few years probably but he will stay as long as he has these 4 or 5. Only 1 of the 5 is a senior. Looking at the district and state playoff brackets this CJ team could still make the quarterfinals this year before they would lose to West Plains. There is no reason to leave yet.CJ coach in the past has been good at recognizing when the upcoming talent pool was weakening and then moving on to greener pastures?
