MSHSAA strikes again.

With impending bad weather coming on Saturday the class 5 sectional at William Chrisman, They requested that they have the meet on Friday.

The request was denied. They finished half of the meet and now have to finish the second half of the meet on Monday. So many athletes competed on Saturday will also have to compete on Monday, then they will have to go to state on Friday and Saturday.

If you know anything about track and field you know how idiotic this Is. This will gravely impact performances at the state meet. Congratulations the morons that made the decision not to have the meet on Friday.

The state did a good job of moving up the Class 1 and 2 state meet.

MSHSAA ran the C1 and C2 meet very well. Got it done before bad weather got to Jeff City. Also helps that my alma meter West Platte, won the state title in Class 2 girls.

The girls had 3 State Champions and a lot of podium spots. And that was even with losing our 4x400 to a dropped baton in the prelims. But it was great weekend to be a Bluejay.

A Monday competition and coming back on Friday-Saturday is not that big of a deal or Track athletes. Its not like they run 5,000 and 10,000 at the high school level.

My biggest issue was that the request was denied for a beautiful Friday meet and kids were made to endure severe thunderstorms and tornado watches all day Saturday in outdoor sports. They definitely dropped the ball on student safety. MSHSAA is suppose to work for the schools not the other way around. Schools of each sectional should have been able to make the decision based on weather instead of one MSHSAA official.

Heck. There lucky to have a track meet at all. People like to complain but do feeces about anything. 3 people died from tornadoes and people without houses in Jefferson City and they are worried getting it done in one day. Too much gas in the chamber.
