How much are streaming services for the 1v8 district games that sometimes don't even work?
Who does the filming and production of these? I recall many games last year were subpar and/or didn't even work. Is there an effort being made on the part of of the millionares at MSHSAA to remedy this or are they committing fraud by shipping out a product they know won't work sometimes?

How much is the entry into district games vs regular season games?
Does MSHSAA pay the gate workers for district games or do the schools have to fork that over?

In teems of actually going to the game I think MSHSAA actually treats the first round of districts like a regular season game. However on the streaming rules they don't of course

Does MSHSAA pay the gate workers and security for playoff games?

I am not sure but I doubt it. I think MSHSAA gets the ticket money and the school gets to keep concessions.
Don't most school have 'clubs' that do concession?
MSHSAA is way out of touch.
Time to clean house.

I believe the only game they produce a stream for is the championship game and it's usually pretty decent but nothing like foxmw used to do. The way it used to work was for for the quarters and semis they required a licensing fee to be paid if a school or their affiliate wanted to stream them game. Districts were unregulated like regular season.

The way it works now is MSHSAA doesn't do the licensing or at least not for any reasonable amount. Instead they require ALL streams from districts through semis to go behind their paywall. So basically they are saying we aren't going to stream it. You are welcome to do it but you can only do it through our platform so we can sell access to it and keep 100% of the profit. So the result is that fewer games are streamed and fewer people are interested in paying for access because some of these streams are not professional or reliable. It's total horse____. I never really hated mshsaa until this. Several schools streamed district games rogue last year and got shut down before the game was over so obviously mshsaa had a team of staffers looking for these and reporting them to platforms as illegal.

Last year they moved to the digital ticketing. This is purely speculation on my part but I would almost guarantee you it went down something like this - ticketing company makes a pitch that they will provide the service for *free*, just add some kind of 'inconvenience' fee on top of the ticket prices, so fans will be footing the bill. They presented some study that shows an increase of 15% or something by collecting all the revenue directly vs school collecting and remitting. I would love to see a school just quietly look the other way while fans just walk in.

Both of these changes negatively impact both schools and fans - the only benefit is mshsaa protecting or growing it's revenue stream.

1st round games are treated more like regular season games, at the site. Home team does share part of the gate though.. MSHSAA takes over second round (Week 11)

If MSHSAA offered a package for $50 that allowed you to watch all the postseason football games would you pay it? I think I would... but I won't spend $50 to watch 5 random games.

Typically who ever they get to stream these aren’t very streaming savvy. I’ve paid the money before and quality wasn’t good.
Another thing I can’t believe but is true that MSHSAA pays less to officials then the schools do. That just is totally a POS. The gravy train people at MSHSAA need to be held accountable.

I think MSHSAA only cares about football in regards to streaming. I have seen volleyball and softball districts on YouTube for free and other schools charging.

They put basketball districts behind their paywall last year. However, all the games at the district in Willard last year they went ahead and put them out there and bypassed the paywall stuff. Not sure how they got around it.

Some of that stuff on YouTube etc is supposed to be behind the paywall as well but some folks have done it and not got caught. I am sure they will just claim ignorance if approached. Heck I had a group show up to a game last week without letting anyone know they were coming and acted shocked that they were supposed to inform the HOME AD that they were coming.

I remember a LS West Ozark Playoff game that was live the first half then MSHSAA got word... im not saying you could get a buying group and share logins and passwords... but you could get a buying group and share logins and passwords.

It is where the money is. They know FB is far and away the #1 spectator sport. I will say this, though, if they force me to pay a nickel for service like that Fort Osage at Wentzville Holt game last November I am driving down to their offices banging on the door.

MSHSAA only cares about money.
Their players and fanbase aren't even a consideration.

I'm surprised that officials, umpires, referee's, etc. don't all get together and say we want another $20 per game, or something of the like. Already a shortage, plus the heckling and thankless nature of what they do, they deserve more.

I’m going to double because it may have changed but I believe most schools pay $120+ and Mshsaa pays like $85.

Edit. Ok it is different now. Schools play 120-140. Mshsaa has some new zone set up that goes to the schools and is sometimes higher. It’s all based on where the white hat lives and travel.

It’s new this year.

It’s very frustrating. I run the live stream for Ava and we typically charge a PPV or subscription fee that helps pay for equipment and pays people to run cameras. We’re trying our best to make the stream look good. When we get to the postseason MSHSAA takes almost all of the PPV money. MSHSAA TV provides no service but reaps all of the rewards from local broadcasters.

I bet within 10 years MSHSAA will take over the whole cart of apples and mandate that ALL coverage of MSHSAA sanctioned activities port through their platform where they will sell a variety of subscription plans ranging from all access, unlimited within a sport or schools or conference, a particular group of events like all district 6 games, or ala carte per event.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say they will call it MSHSAA+
They need to be mindful of who is paying for their salaries.

Someone posted they had 5-6 million in reserve.

Why do they need even that much? What is their future plan requiring that much (and more) capital?
