Thursday night to avoid the inclement weather.

Yes you read that right.

At least one local school is being blocked from moving their game by MSHSAA.

These people are out of control

Missouri 8-Man Football posted last night that the Osceola at Drexel game was getting moved to Thursday but it has not changed on MSHSAA. I know that East Buchanan asked to move their game to Thursday since their volleyball team is playing in the final four on Friday night in Cape. They were told no.

Could be some major delays Friday night, MSHSAA needs to loosen up.

Drexel's social media posted it was still going to be played on Friday due to being blocked by MSHSAA.

That was 9 hours ago.

And the volleyball thing is just plain disrespectful. Sorry to hear that!

Hermann you would think would have tried to follow this and ask MSHSSA to move their game as their volleyball team is playing in the Final Four on Friday evening... Though I have not seen anything on that either.

Straight from MSHSAA manual. I guess they can play Saturday.

POSTSEASON SCHEDULE: 1. Game Times: a. Friday – 7:00 PM b. Saturday – 1:00 PM 2. Game Days: a. District Games: (Weeks 10-12) – Games will be played on Friday unless: • the common expected one-way travel is three (3) or more hours, the game will be played Saturday, unless the participating schools agree to play on Friday; • the field is unlit; the game will then be played on Saturday; • two teams share a field; the higher seed will play on Friday and the lower on Saturday; or • the two teams mutually agree to play on Saturday prior to the bracket information being due. b. Quarterfinals & Semifinals: (Weeks 13-14) – Games will be played on Saturday unless: • the two teams mutually agree to play on Friday prior to the bracket information being due

But they let them play the day before in the following rounds.

Let's be proactive rather than reactive.

Let the teams decide. The people that actually pay the bills for MSHSAA.

don't forget in 8man with the smallest rosters, physically intense game, the state semifinal is on Saturday and then they turnaround and play OMG on a THURSDAY night...
why in the world would you put a state title game on any day besides a Saturday? (Or a Friday on a holiday)

Wanting to drive up online viewership?

This has been a thing for a long long time. I remember going to Columbia in 2000 and 2001 on a Thursday and then Friday during the day to watch final four Basketball. It is a thing.

The question is why.

MSHSAA doesn't want to work weekends and still make bank?

available of facilities and time to execute the entire schedules of those final fours. You can't schedule 20 games+ with time in between to get spectators out and others all in 1 day. You have to do it on the course of multiple days. Hence the late in the week scheduling which filters over to Saturday.

They don't have to be in the same far off location.

This is one thing Kansas gets right.

Gotta have a day to play loser's brackets

unless we get rid of loser brackets.... I mean, isnt that the comment used, by some, when complaining about some districts being tougher than others? Crowing a champion is all that really matters, is the thought used....

We getting rid of wrestlebacks?

Since the champion is all that matters.

not likely to happen...I mean yes, they should, but they won't...

Might not have their goblins available Thursday to scour the internets for people illegally streaming the HS games without paying MSHSAA.
If the weather is Bad Mshsaa should allow a change to Thur. or Saturday. ...... but I do understand that the official situation might be a issue in regard to that. I'm sure many officials carve out certain days to work games and last minute changes could cause many of them to not be able to work games.

Are there now games tonight? Thought I saw a post on the twitter machine about it being game day for a school. But I was half asleep and I may have been dreaming

Lamar will announce tomorrow at 1pm if the game with Stockton will be played Friday night or moved to Saturday at 1pm.

MSHSAA should be ashamed of themselves. I'm no delicate flower but all this crap could have been avoided by moving to Thursday. I call b's on the reasons they gave. Told us not fair to have extra day to prepare. I hope they get some ass chewing.
