Carp isn't getting on base or filling gaps as much. Wong is a serious downgrade from Beltran in the #2 hole. Holliday's production is way down and is still among the league leaders in DPs. NOBODY has come close to AC's production from the cleanup spot. Lineup has missed Yadi in the #5 hole, and when healthy he hasn't been as good either. J-honey has been better than Freese was. Jay has been better than Jay of last year. And OT and whoever has covered the #8 hole has been just as bad (as painful as that is for me to admit) than Koz or Descalso was last season. Point is, nearly top to bottom this lineup isn't coming even close to last year's production. And it seems like the starting pitching is coming back to earth. Could be a bad equation for the last month and a half or so.Originally posted by vbsideout:
Can't argue with you Ducky but this team has so many problems offensively it is not just MH
Fixed that for you. LolOriginally posted by vbsideout:
And tonight we have Masterson on the bump so we probably have to score 9 just to be in the game.
You and me both! I didn't see his first two starts, but he had to have thrown the ball better last night than in those two outings. I wouldn't say his stuff was dominant (thought the Fish went outside the zone quite a bit), but his sinker sunk and he seemed to have reasonably good control.Originally posted by vbsideout:
Glad he proved both of us wrong
