I didn't know you could move from one school to another and play during the same season but Carl Junction just picked up a nice player from another school.

You can if it is a full family move and not to be deemed for athletic reasons. There are also hardship exceptions that a kid has to move due to things out of the kid's control. Divorce, bad parenting situation, in foster care and moves, etc.

In this case the player went from a nearby private school to a public school. I don't know if the family even moved.

MSHSAA has been somewhat lenient in those cases. Like always, no rhyme or reason, but lots of financial hardships this year.

I think this changes things in Class 5. Before Willard and West Plains were the favorites to come out of the SW part of the bracket but this puts CJ in that class

College Heights. Look at the CJ roster on Max Preps and you will see the name. She was their best player this year and scored over 20 a few times as a freshman.

No player from College Heights puts them in that class. I have seen all 3 teams play. Willard and West Plains are not getting smoked by 30 to a class 3 team either.

I admit I have re evaluated after seeing what West Plains did to Republic tonight.

Well the girl that moved in from college heights is a nice player. She’s a sophomore and is a nice shooter and aggressive on defense. Her oldest sister stayed at college heights. So it is bizarre how a someone could play for 2 schools in one season. Not sure I’ve ever seen that before.

She played for College Heights in games after Christmas break so yeah it is bizarre.

That is a strange event and I do not know how they accomplished it unless they said they could not afford for both of them and that their oldest daughter was given the opportunity to finish her schooling at CHCHS?

Also it has to be reported as for athletic reasons if the hardship is accepted by MSHSAA. As with anything related to MSHSAA, it is not always clearly outlined, nor always easily understandable.

I'd have to agree. West Plains is a powerhouse program and somehow every season people want to pick against them.

I can assure you money is NOT an object. I’ll leave it at that.😉

Weird how some other full family moves aren’t eligible to play. Wish there was some consistency with things. Shocking how the loss to Parkview last night.

The Scott girl is hurt and CJ struggles to get even 1 rebound without her

I hadn’t heard that. So, now they have to find ways to rebound without a 6 footer like most schools. Oh the struggles of rebounding with short people. Hopefully she is back soon!

The girl who is their 2nd best player has an ankle injury but she played.
