Mount Vernon played a near flawless game. Lacy Stokes fouled out half of Vashon’s team. They had no answer for her. They tried double teaming and denying her and nothing worked. They just kept reaching and fouling her. She hit probably 20 free throws.

Vashon probably should have went to a tight zone. They made the mistake of trying to pressure her full court, which led to the fouls. Best way to beat Stokes and Mt Vernon is get back on D, pack it in, and make them beat you from outside, keying on only Stokes and Johnston out there. And force Stokes to go right. A better defensive game plan might have led to a different outcome. The 78 they scored was the fourth most points they scored all year.
