For me it was the following and I wish I could find the article from back in the day but I remember Raytowns's Tyron Lue having a Quadruple Double against Warrensburg. Amazing considering how short the quarters are. I think it was pts, reb, assist steals.

I saw Steve Harris from Blue Springs HS score 54 against Southwest HS in the early 80’’s. Harris played college ball at Tulsa under Nolan Richardson and spent a few seasons with the Houston Rockets.

Tyler Hansborough in the TOC 3rd place game where I don't believe he missed a shot. I don't remember the exact stats, but he put on a show. If I remember it was after they lost to Kickapoo in the semi's.

For HS athletics...not even close...this one is for you Dogfather.

1995 Mexico Bulldogs in the Final 4. Most electric two day performance I've ever seen.

3:20 mark on are the two final 4 games vs Borgia and Maryville. Make sure and watch the first 3:20 though. You won't regret it.

The Borgia team the year before was just as impressive.

Saw Javon Crudup (Ray South) just manhandle Patrick Richey (Lee's Summit) in the William Jewell tournament their Senior years. Was built up as a "marquee" matchup, Crudup just abused the poor guy all night long.

That Mexico 90s video is crazy. Very impressive.

For me personally, it was seeing Jaron Rush dominate back in the late 90s.

On the girls side Hayley Frank threw up a couple dominating performances that I got to see in person on their run to some state titles.

1988 Paseo vs. Jeff City

Peeler had 40+ and Enoch Roberts had 30+ for JC. It was just a human highlight reel of dunks, athleticism and high level basketball. I was in Junior High School and my dad took me, It felt like a State Championship game. It was packed and it was loud

Tyler Hansborough in the state championship game against Vashon. Absolutely dominant.

I had the pleasure of playing against and watching Gary "Cat" Johnson from Joplin Memorial High School.

The 5-foot-10 Johnson led the Eagles to three consecutive appearances in the Class 3A state championship game. His sophomore year Memorial lost to St. Joseph Lafayette 87-82, but the Eagles won the next two years by beating Charleston 80-73 and McKinley 97-69. The Eagles went 62-1 during Johnson’s junior and senior seasons.

Johnson graduated as Memorial’s single-game, single-season, and career scoring leader as well as the Class 3A single-game and tournament scoring leader. […]

Johnson signed with Oral Roberts University. Johnson totaled 1,059 points and 481 assists with the Titans and was named to the ORU Hall of Fame in 2008. […]

Johnson was drafted in the ninth round by the New Jersey Nets of the NBA and played professionally in England for eight years.

I was at the game when Fred Johnson broke Bill Roundtree's scoring record. He had many games with 40 and 50 plus points but at Bowling Green that night he needed 21 points to break the record and he was in foul trouble. The coach put him back in the game late and told him "when you catch it shoot it." He didn't shoot outside much, he didn't have to to score, but he broke the record on about an 18 footer and place went crazy. The Bowling Green students had a chalk board on the stage at the end of the court counting down to the record!

Great idea for thread. So many games that I can come back to thread and add more when they pop into head, but some that really stand out. In no order of how memorable to me.
Any game back at MAC watching Sonny Parker and the Cards.
Cat Johnson broke my 12 year old dreams at state tourney by dominating my Rebels.
Watched Jaron and Kareem Rush play from their 9th thru 12th years a good 10 to 12 times a year. So many things to remember from those games but the most memorable was the quarterfinal against Smithville at Hickman Mills Jaron's SR. year. Standing room only, Smithville slowed tempo but couldn't stop the Jaron from ending one of the most storied high school careers in Missouri history(regardless of the extra junk we all know now) with a monster dunk that shattered the backboard and ended the game to send them to the final four. Place went absolutely nuts, Glass was everywhere and remember Mark Sevy(ref who was not working game) directing traffic to keep people out of glass on floor. Oh, and big guy from Smithville that was in front row standing up yelling at the Rush's entire game, he got real quiet when the glass was flying!!
Same year Rush's Pembroke Hill vs, Raytown at the Raytown Tourney championship game, awesome display of talent on the floor that night. Raytown had Tyron Lue and another guy that ended up playing at Nebraska I think, and Cortez Groves.

I remember going to watch Truman vs. Pembroke at St.Thomas Aquinas tournament championship. Rush brothers on one side against state finalist bound Truman with future Roo Will Palmer. Such an electric atmosphere!

My daughter took basketball lessons from one of Cat Johnson's best friends. Sad that Cat died a few years ago.

What was the score of that semifinal game? Like a 30-33 point differential. 99-66 or something like that in favor of Mexico. Painful for us Borgia fans.

Wasn't a Missouri guy, but happened in Missouri I guess — Teddy Dupay's 58 at the TOC in 1998 against Bolivar was pretty wild. Made 13 3-pointers.

In 2014, Ben Weinreiss from Ash Grove had 57 point, 20+ rebound game in the Walnut Grove Holiday Tournament. He was a nightmare to prepare for. He was 6’5 with good ball skills and strong around the rim.

Moberly vs St. Charles West sectional game in Troy in 2008 was the greatest basketball game I have seen in person.

1969 district championship Dixon (with John Brown-later MU and Atlanta Hawks) vs. Versailles (with Bill Laurie-later Memphis State NCAA final four) .
Back and forth, heavyweight fight. I swear Laurie was knocking down shots from two steps inside the half court line (no 3 pointers at that time). Dixon prevailed and finished the season undefeated with another classic against Oran in the ship.
I've always been amused by the fact that they called the Hearnes Center "the house that John Brown built". Years later Laurie (now with Wal-Mart money) builds a new arena next to the Hearnes Center. I appreciate the generous donation to the people of the state of Missouri but IMO Brown won again, Hearnes Center much better forum than new arena.

Cat Johnson was quite the player. Remember watching him and the Memorial team in the Carthage tourney when I was in late elementary school or junior high. He was playing the game at a different speed than everyone else.

Saw Ted Young from Marionville put up 52 points (I think) in the early 80s. It was very painful watching him do it as an opponent, but it was an amazing performance. He was so hot that night that once he stepped across half court, he was in shooting range. And this was in the days before 3-pointers. Ted went on to MU and later to Drury.

The Borgia team the year before was just as impressive.
Actually didnt Borgia win it the two years before with Borgia beating Mexico in 94? Did mexico and borgia play a rematch in 95 at state. I know Borgia got third in 95

As a kid the most memorable game for whatever reason was Jevon Crudups Raytown South against I think St. Raymonds. My older brothers both say the Anthony Peeler vs. Todd Day was the greatest high school game they have ever seen. John Wall in the championship game of ToC a few years ago was impressive. Locally Aminu Mohammed game against Kickapoo in the Blue and Gold one of the most impressive performances recently.

84/85 McKinley vs Herculaneum regular season. Gym was packed that night and they had to close the doors due to the gym being at capacity. Blackcats pulled out the W vs McKinley. McKinley was stacked that year with Monroe Douglas and Roland Gray who would go on to play at SLU. McKinley would exact their revenge in the sectional rematch and snap the Blackcats unbeaten season.

Was not there in person but I remember listening on the radio when De Soto's Brandon Klaus scored 45 points in a losing effort against Jefferson City in the state semifinal. Kid had 11 treys that day, still a record for the state tournament as far as I know.

It was an offensive clinic. Man, that kid could flat score.

Class 4 state title in 2015. Hillcrest vs St. Charles.

Brady Petry from Hillcrest had 34 points on just 17 shots. Did that in 25 minutes.
Casey Teson of St. Charles had 35, with 29 in the second half. St. Charles managed to comeback from down 21 in the 3rd Q to beat Hillcrest.

Was an all-time game and an all time duel between two really good players.

It was a hoot when the BG coach wanted the refs to call a T because Fred's mom ran on the court.
I was also at the Wellsville sectional game vs. Glasgow (played at Fulton) when Billy Rountree was a senior...so his last game. At the start of 4th quarter, the score table called the refs over just as they were about to tip.

The officials just kinda threw their hands up and shrugged as the scoreboard took two points away from Wellsville and gave them to Glasgow.

Quickly they did the second-half tip (which they DID in those days) before the Wellsville Coach (Fred something) could call time out and went ballistic on the officials.

The score table guy had incorrectly marked down one bucket Wellsville had scored in the 3rd quarter for Glasgow.

EVERYBODY except him knew it was a mistake... but they never corrected the score.

The game went into overtime, Rountree fouled out, and Glasgow was awarded the win... EVEN THOUGH IN REALITY they should have lost by four in regulation if not for that fateful score table error.

It was UNBELIEVABLE and I'm sure Wellsville people are still upset to this day...because they were robbed.

Kent Russell put on a performance at the state tournament I will never forget. 1978 against Lilbourn. 47 points. He scored at will. There times Lilbourn had 3 or 4 people guarding him but he could not be stopped. I still have his autograph.

I scouted that game. They turned people away.
