No. 1

The Championship of the

Pattonville Tournament

presents a big time matchup between St. Louis heavy weights McCluer and
Lafayette. Top players in this 8:15 tip off include:

Tyler Griffey, Lafayette 6-8 Sr Forward

Though he has already committed to the University of
Illinois, Griffey spent the summer improving his perimeter jump shot and it was
apparent on Saturday (Pepsi Showcase). A skilled big man, Griffey teamed with
Will Kirksey to defeat Sikeston 72-64.

Will Kirksey, Lafayette, 6-7 Sr Forward

Kirksey is just a load at the high school level where
most teams can't match up to his size. He still gets plenty of garbage points
and plays well with Griffey.

Lonnie Boga, McCluer 6-3 Sr. Guard

Headed to Milwaukee-Wisconsin Boga rebounded well
following the Pepsi Showcase leading his team past Chaminade and into the
tournament finals.

No. 2

The Lancers must quickly rebound as they prepare for a
Noon tipoff at the Marshall County Hoopfest, their 5th game in seven
days against South Laurel (KY).

No. 3

The 4-0 Hazelwood Central Hawks another of the top Class
5 teams in the state will taken on the host Vianney Golden Griffins (2-0) at
Vianney in the championship of the

42nd
Jerry Boeckman Memorial Vianney Tournament
.

No. 4

Which Missouri boys prep basketball coach will reach 500
career victories within the next couple days? Tune in later in the Top
Ten!

No. 5

Moberly junior Brennan Hughes exploded in his
opening game of the season scoring 41 points (his career high), grabbing 10
rebounds, and 6 blocks in an 82-64 home victory over Chillicothe.

No. 6

No. 4 Mexico upset No. 1 seed Bowling Green 40-29 at
the

Montgomery County Tournament

and will now face No. 3 seeded Hermann in the championship.
The Bearcats upended No. 2 seed Fulton 53-51 to advance to Saturday evenings
championship game.

No. 7

Alex Bazzell, a 6-foot guard from St.
Charles West and a McDonald's All-American nominee has been lost to the Warriors
for nearly two months following a wrist injury in their opening win over St.
Charles.

No. 8

Gateway Tech is off to a 2-0 start with victories over
DeSmet and Whitfield and Troy Edmonds is at the center of that success.
The 6-foot-4 inch senior forward opened the season with a 35-point effort in a
victory over Whitfield.

No. 9

The championship of the 8-team Borgia Tournament (it
seems weird just typing that after 50+ years of Thanksgiving and 16 teams) will
be held in Washington where we believe Knight head coach David Neier can
win his 500th career victory with a tournament title. Researchers are
trying to ascertain whether Neier, a member of the Missouri Basketball Hall of
Fame has 498 or 499 career victories.

No. 10

If you still haven't seen this amazing football of a
game winning, at the buzzer no look shot in a small college game in Geneseo, New
York you just have to take a look.
