Really nice job by Dennis Gates to land Mosley. He will be an impact player to pair with Kobe Brown.

With Noah Carter coming over from UNI and Sean East who was at Bradley a few years ago also coming, Mizzou will have a lot of familiar faces for Missouri Valley basketball followers.

Mosley is a nice pickup. I think he should have stayed at Missouri State, but that’s just my opinion and it’s not my decision to make.

Noah Carter is a mid major level player. Period. Comes from a way-too-involved family. UNI was glad to see him (the Carters) go. Addition by subtraction perhaps?

Sean East was a struggling player at Bradley. Big numbers at JUCO but I don’t think he’s the savior that some think he might be.

Gates has landed some pieces but it’s going to be a mountain of a task to manage that roster and everything that comes with it.

Smart move by Mosley. He will have a chance to increase his NBA stock against SEC competition, and play at his hometown school. I have always thought that these blue chip athletes that pass up a chance to play at their hometown major DI colleges are also passing up on all the business opportunities they would have after basketball.

Was not surprised he went back to CoMo but being a Bears fan it hurt a little. Read an interesting article that questions how he fits into Gates offense.

He’ll likely be an afterthought within in Mizzou basketball ten years from now. I hope not, but it’s certainly possible. He’ll be a one year player there. At Missouri State he was destined to finish as the schools all time leading scorer. Jersey retired in the rafters. Would have been a legend. Now? To the die hard fans it’s as if he never played there. Dead to them. And can you blame them?

True, I was thinking more about other in state HS players going to out of state colleges.

He's a go-to scorer. Mizzou needs one.
What Gates has done with the roster is impressive given the limited time he's had to work.
Watch those FSU teams that he assembled for Hamilton. I'll take it.

The article said most Of his offense runs thru the low post. Does this mean he will not have the green light? See the ball as much as he did at MoState?

I sure hope so. I sure got tired of watching Mizzou launch 25 3s per game and make 5-6.

Local Springfeild radio said Mosley received $250k and use of a new car and house. MoState offered $65k.

And there lies the problem with NILs.

I have a huge problem with a college athlete making $250K a year AND getting a free education, free housing, and free meals paid for by taxpayers money.

Flip side is the same things happening to Mizzou.

I was speaking of Mizzou, but it applies to every school. The NIL money removes any doubt that college sports is amateur sports.

Where are you getting all of your info on the negative information you are sharing? Just wondering...

I appreciate the analysis.

I've seen the negativity about Carter over on Panther Nation. But clearly UNI would have preferred that he stay. He had several P5 schools interested so I think he is at least a solid addition.

Sean East has certainly transferred quite a bit but being a JUCO player of the year and with Smithpeters on the coaching staff, you'd have to think that Gates has a pretty good idea of what he is getting.

Overall, this new roster is very exciting to me as a Mizzou fan. It'll take a while for them to gel, but a lot of teams are experiencing the same situation. This team should be more competitive in the SEC next year.

I follow MVC basketball religiously. Visit the fan boards often, follow the beat writers on twitter, etc. All of this stuff, especially with Carter, has been very well documented. There was even one game when his family was heckling AJ Green, UNI’s All-Valley guard. Pretty asinine stuff. And yes obviously UNI would have preferred Carter stay, but I don’t think they were crying too hard when his handlers decided it was time to move on.

Honestly, if a player gets more than tuition a year, he or she should have to pay for their college with the money and keep the rest. Take more financial responsibilty and frees up another scholarship to use.
