More “Old people” Stuff…

The SEC will be the only league next year with any geographic common sense to it. Even the ones claiming Mizzou doesn't belong can be given evidence that at one time that geographic area strongly desired Missouri. Several battlefields in the state confirm that.

The SEC made all the other conferences do this.

Still not really going to help.

Been a lot smarter to consolidate all the power teams in the big 12 so you'd at least get TX recruits.

To consolidate in the Big 12 may have indeed been better, but I thought the Big Ten kind of started this nonsense. They added Nebraska in 2011 (after flirting with Mizzou at first but backing out), and the SEC didn't bring in Mizzou and A&M until 2012. Unless you are thinking of when the SEC struck the SWC by grabbing Arkansas.

They offered Mizzou the same 2nd rate deal as nubs got. Mizzou said no thanks.

I'm to the point, as an "old person," that I do miss the old Big 8 Conference. I pretty much agree with Chip Kelly when he said to make all of college football independent, and let the leagues get back to some common sense for other activities.
We agree

Who remembers the MU vs. OU game being for the "peace pipe"?

If I remember right, everyone thought MU to the Big 10 was a done deal. MU balked at the junior membership, and NU jumped in and took the deal clamoring on it blue blood status and that it could bring the KC market.
