"Don" Large??
As for when they are announcing I don't know, I thought I heard later this week but not sure. Cubs you never emailed me, but was that you you texting me last night?
Come on people. Donald David Large, some of you people don't seem to to know Don very well. He's a 1st cousin to Mort Johnson former coach (now retired) at Smith Cotton. Neither one is related to Harv Welch who was the former coach of Jody Wells when he starred as QB for the Aurora Hound Dawgs.Originally posted by Pinochet:
I know of "David" Large, is "Don" some sort of clever reference I'm not catching?
Do any of them know Coach Nickerson? Maybe attended a coaching clinic he was speaking at...Originally posted by SadButTrue:

Are you not excited about the hiring of Derrick Uhl? Cassville has had some pretty successful seasons, including a state title in 2008. I would think he would bring some of that success, and be able to continue the success at Monett.Originally posted by monettcubs:

I seriously doubt Uhl will listen to anything that 'monettcubs' has to say...no one else does.Originally posted by SadButTrue:
You can only hope he doesn't read MoSports and monettcubs attitude towards him.
Well I wish Coach Uhl the best and hope he has great success at Monett. It sounds like his familiarity and foundation Monett currently has should be a winning combo. Now the big question remains, who will now coach Cassvilles 7th grade????Originally posted by stargroup:

Uhl will be a tremendous coach for the Cubs. More than one has been heard saying that Uhl has a couple of state championships in his future no matter where he lands as head coach. It was Uhl who designed the line schemes that finally beat undefeated Cassville, 10-6, in the 2012 playoffs after Monett had lost 5 games in a row to Cassville. That upset win denied Cassville another likely trip to the Dome and punched Monett's ticket to the state semi-final game.
As much as I have always disliked everything about Monett, I think they just scored a big win in getting Uhl back on their sidelines. Read the article for some background on him.
A perfectly reasonable requestOriginally posted by bullitpdq68:
Don't be those fans(Webb) and turn this thread into all about Cassville.........

I know there were people with better resumes that applied. They may not be better coaches but were far more proven. Really hope this works out well for Monett. Congrats to Uhl on getting his shot.
Perfect! Because I really don't think you could get Coach Nickerson to come out of retirement to coach 7th grade, even if he got his position coaches lined up....Originally posted by UNCLERICO22:
